Scouting report

NO QB Drew Brees - Week 14, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14: Brees vs. Panthers
In a vintage performance, Drew Brees completed 19-of-27 passes for 257 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions in the Saints’ win over the Steelers last week. Even without targeting Jimmy Graham, Brees was able to carve up a banged up Pittsburgh defense following three-straight home losses. In his past two games Brees has compiled eight touchdowns, 677 yards and only one interception and has a great matchup versus a brutal Carolina defensive backfield on Sunday. He’s our No. 2 overall QB for Week 14 and is a must start.

NO QB Drew Brees - Week 13, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13: Brees vs. Steelers
Drew Brees completed 35-of-45 passes for 420 yards with three touchdowns and one interception in the Saints' Week 12 loss to the Ravens on Monday night. It was a great fantasy night for Brees, although he threw a pick-six to Will Hill midway through the third quarter that helped doom the Saints. Based on our schedule-adjusted, positional defensive ranking chart, Brees has a nice matchup against a Pittsburgh defense that ranks 25th overall versus fantasy QBs. Brees himself ranks as our No. 7 overall QB for Week 13 and should be in your lineup despite the fact that New Orleans tends to struggle offensively on the road.

NO QB Drew Brees - Week 12, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12: Brees vs. Ravens
Drew Brees was 33-of-41 for 255 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions in the Saints’ Week 11 loss to the Bengals. Considering he was playing at home where he normally thrives, it was a disappointing afternoon for Brees owners. Cincinnati did a nice job taking away the Saints’ vertical attack and forced Brees to dink and dunk throughout the game. He should get back on track on Monday night versus the Ravens when the matchup gets a little easier. Brees is our No. 4 overall QB for Week 12.

NO QB Drew Brees - Week 11, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11: Brees vs. Bengals
Drew Brees completed 28-of-47 passes for 292 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions in the Saints’ Week 10 loss to the 49ers. His turnovers played a key role in New Orleans’ demise as his first interception led to points for San Francisco, his second pick before halftime took potential points off the board for the Saints, and his fumble in overtime led to the Niners’ game-winning field goal. Even though he has a tough matchup against a Cincinnati team that is 10th in quarterback fantasy points allowed, Brees is always a solid play at home. He’s our 5th overall QB for Week 11 and should be in your lineup.

NO QB Drew Brees - Week 10, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10: Brees vs. 49ers
Drew Brees was 24-of-34 for 297 yards with one touchdown and one interception in the Saints’ Week 9 win over the Panthers. The output was strong considering the Saints’ offense has had issues on the road over the years. San Francisco has the No. 6 fantasy defense in the NFL but continues to be without top pass rusher Aldon Smith and could once again be without linebacker Patrick Willis (toe). Despite the challenging matchup, Brees ranks as our No. 3 overall QB in Week 10 and should be in your starting lineup.

NO QB Drew Brees - Week 9, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9: Brees vs. Panthers
Drew Brees completed 27-of-32 passes for 311 yards and three touchdowns in the Saints' Week 8 win over the Packers. He didn't throw an incompletion in the second half as the performance was vintage Brees. He's now averaging 318 yards per game with 14 touchdowns and seven interceptions and while he and the Saints have struggled on the road, he's a must-start on Thursday night versus the Panthers. Brees is our No. 6 overall QB for Week 9.

NO QB Drew Brees - Week 8, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8: Brees vs. Packers
Drew Brees completed 28-of-45 passes for 342 yards with two touchdowns and one interception in the Saints’ Week 7 loss to the Lions. Unfortunately his lone interception marred an otherwise solid fantasy day for Brees, who was harassed by Detroit’s nasty front seven for most of the game. The good news is he showed that he can still put up numbers without Jimmy Graham being 100-percent healthy. Consider him a QB1 for Week 8 against the Packers. He ranks as our No. 4 overall QB for this week.
