HOU RB Duke Johnson - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
At Tennessee last Sunday, Duke Johnson recorded just two rushes and two receptions, totaling 23 yards. Deshaun Watson came his way on a long pass to the end zone in the first quarter, but it was intercepted. On the season Johnson is averaging only eight touches and has been held to less than 50 total yards in four of the past five outings. His value on Saturday will likely come in the aerial attack against a poor Bucs pass defense, but he’s just not seeing enough action to warrant a fantasy start.

HOU RB Duke Johnson - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Tennessee Titans
Even though Deshaun Watson threw 50 times for nearly 300 yards in the loss to the Broncos last week Duke Johnson saw just seven total touches, with six of them coming in the passing game. The lone rush attempt was a season-low, while the six grabs were the most he’s registered in ’19. In four of the past six games, Johnson has totaled more yards receiving than on the ground. In this important time of your fantasy season, there have to be better options at running back.

HOU RB Duke Johnson - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Denver Broncos
With Carlos Hyde struggling to get anywhere on the ground versus the Patriots last Sunday night, Duke Johnson led the team with 36 rushing yards on nine carries and caught five passes for 54 yards and his fourth TD of ’19 – all coming in the past seven games. The 90 total yards matched a season-high from Week 1 and the rushing attempts and receptions also tied season highs. Like New England, the Broncos have a good pass defense, which could lead to a good outing from Johnson in the check down game again, making him a sneaky start.

HOU RB Duke Johnson - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. New England Patriots
Versus the Colts last Thursday, Duke Johnson received just six touches for 30 yards. On the season he is averaging eight touches for 54 yards, with three total TDs. He has double-digit touches just once in the past six games. Now that the bye weeks are over Johnson doesn’t have much fantasy value outside of PPR leagues.

HOU RB Duke Johnson - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Indianapolis Colts
The Texans offense had all sorts of trouble moving the ball against the Ravens last Sunday. While Duke Johnson’s 40 rushing yards in the loss were the most since early October, he’s averaging 56 total yards per outing with three total TDs. Last month at Indy Johnson finished right on his season average of 56 yards on nine touches. He should only be started if you're low on RB options.

HOU RB Duke Johnson - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Baltimore Ravens
Against the Jaguars in London two weeks ago, Duke Johnson scored his first rushing TD of the season, finishing with 81 total yards on 12 touches. The yardage total was the second-most he’s posted in ’19, after a 90-yard performance in the opener. The Ravens defense allows just 91 rushing yards per game, so expect Johnson’s impact to mostly come as a part of the Texans passing game.

HOU RB Duke Johnson - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Even with Carlos Hyde remaining the workhorse for Houston, Duke Johnson has made the most of his opportunities, finishing with 34 total yards and a receiving TD on seven touches last Sunday versus Oakland. On an average of eight touches per game this season Johnson is registering 54 yards, and he’s found the end zone twice the past three outings. In London against an average Jaguars defense, his main value is still in PPR leagues.
