NYJ WR Garrett Wilson - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Denver Broncos
After a strong start to the season, rookie Garrett Wilson has leveled off the past three weeks. He has six receptions for 76 yards over that stretch. The Jets keep winning but the wide receivers have been an afterthought in the offense.

Wilson faces the Broncos who are ranked 1st in aFPA to wide receivers. This will be a tough matchup on the road for New York and considering the circumstances, it probably will not be the game Wilson starts trending up again. Keep Wilson on the bench for Week 7.

NYJ WR Garrett Wilson - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Green Bay Packers
Garrett Wilson had a tough afternoon last Sunday with only three receptions for 27 yards. The yardage total was the lowest of the season for the rookie. It shows that the consistency isn't quite there yet, as he had back-to-back double-digit target games several weeks ago but only a combined 10 targets over the last two weeks.

Wilson faces Green Bay this Sunday. The Packers are ranked 16th in aFPA to wide receivers this season. Although Wilson is capable of having a big day, we don't like this game on the road for the Jets. Keep Wilson on the bench for Week 6.

NYJ WR Garrett Wilson - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Miami Dolphins
After two straight games with double-digit targets, Garrett Wilson was only targeted six times which produced two receptions for 41 yards. It was his worst fantasy game of the season but not to worry. Most people drafted Wilson to be a depth not knowing what his role would be with the Jets. Now it looks like he can be a contributor as certain times.

Wilson faces the Dolphins who are ranked 16th in aFPA to wide receivers. It will be interesting to watch how Wilson interacts with QB Zach Wilson. The two big games he had were with Joe Flacco at quarterback.

Start Wilson as a low-end WR3 or Flex for Week 5. With a neutral matchup, we still think he is the best target in the Jets passing game.

NYJ WR Garrett Wilson - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Pittsburgh Steelers
Garrett Wilson had double-digit targets for the second straight week but the fantasy results were a little less desirable. He still caught 6 passes for 60 yards which is still decent for where he was ranked.

The Jets face the Steelers who are ranked 28th in aFPA to wide receivers. Expect Wilson to continue to get the WR1 treatment from New York even though he isn't quite there yet. Will also be interesting to see his connection with Zach Wilson, who is expected back under center on Sunday.

Wilson should be in your starting lineup as a WR3 or Flex for Week 4. It's a decent matchup but could be a big day if Zach Wilson decides to make Garrett a priority.

NYJ WR Garrett Wilson - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs. Cincinnati Bengals
It was pretty much the consensus that Garrett Wilson was the clear No. 2 receiver in New York but that might have changed last Sunday. The rookie was targeted 10 times which produced eight receptions, 102 receiving yards and two touchdowns including the game-winner.

Wilson faces the Bengals who are ranked 20th in aFPA to wide receivers. The Jets have some momentum with their comeback win last week so expect them to play with confidence and that includes Wilson.

Start Wilson as a solid WR3 or Flex for Week 3. He will get more and more playing time, but even playing 61% of the snaps he was a factor.

NYJ WR Garrett Wilson - 2022 Fantasy Football Outlook

2022 Fantasy Upside
Garrett Wilson was the second receiver take in the 2022 NFL Draft as the Jets truly believe he will be eventually a No. 1 receiver for the team. The skill set is there and should translate to the NFL. The fact that Wilson played in the slot and then moved outside his last year in college show his versatility. That works out good for New York as Wilson be more on the perimeter to compliment Elijah Moore who is a true slot receiver. Many thought Wilson was a little bit unpolished coming out of school, but his success early could hinge on the ability to make plays after the catch.

2022 Fantasy Downside
The NFL saw two rookie receivers over the past two seasons take the league by storm and that could happen again with Wilson. However, it usually takes a couple of seasons for receivers to be dominant in the league. Wilson also could be crippled by the quarterback play if Zach Wilson doesn't improve during his second season.

2022 Bottom Line
Wilson is going to get playing time and opportunities. Where you draft him probably depends more on the quarterback play and the offense overall. Right now, Wilson only ranks as a low-end WR4 entering the 2022 season. Selecting him as high as the 10th round is realistic if you believe in the Jets but you are getting better value selecting him in the 12th round.
