NYG RB Gary Brightwell - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Seattle Seahawks

Gary Brightwell had four carries for five yards last week, but added 31 yards on a pair of receptions. He split time with Matt Breida and looked reasonably effective catching the ball. He also has a great matchup against Seattle this week, who ranks 25th in aFPA to opposing running backs. Still, Brightwell’s role is far from secure and he’s still likely to land second on the touches list behind Breida on a team with limited touches to go around. Keep him on the bench this week.

Week 3 at San Francisco 49ers

Gary Brightwell may take over some of the two-down work with Saquon Barkley dealing with an ankle injury, but it’s a tough matchup against the 49ers, who are likely to get ahead early and force the Giants into throwing the ball - similar to last week against the Cardinals. Brightwell has some wiggle in the open field and is an interesting option for fantasy managers to roster in case Barkley’s injury is worse, but he’s likely to share time with Matt Breida and is a longshot for legit fantasy production. Sit him.
