Scouting report

SEA QB Geno Smith - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs Los Angeles Rams

Geno Smith is slinging the ball all over the yard lately, but his gaudy yardage totals are not leading to many passing scores, which of course severely hampers his fantasy appeal. Smith only managed 8.1 fantasy points a week ago and finished QB31, while he is only the QB15 in points per game. Smith and his fantasy managers are waiting for the regression to hit in the worst way. The Smith redemption might start in Week 9 against a Rams team that ranks 12th in aFPA to quarterbacks, so Smith projects as a low-end QB1 this time round.

SEA QB Geno Smith - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs Buffalo Bills

Geno Smith continues to be an underrated asset in fantasy football, with a QB10 finish in Week 7 a welcome outcome for his managers. Smith is just outside the top 12 players at the QB spot this season while averaging 17.4 fantasy points per game.

Smith should be able to help put some points on the board in Week 8, although being without D.K. Metcalf does somewhat cap his ceiling. The Seahawks take on the Bills who rank 12th in aFPA to quarterbacks this season. Smith is our QB18 this week.

SEA QB Geno Smith - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Atlanta Falcons

Week 6 was a disappointing week for Geno Smith and his fantasy managers, with only 12.5 fantasy points to show for his efforts. Smith finished as the QB21 but is still the QB10 in fantasy points per game for the season.

Smith has a middling matchup this week as the Seahawks take on the Falcons in Atlanta. The Falcons rank 17th in aFPA to quarterbacks in 2024, so we can expect a bounce back of sorts for Geno and the Seahawks passing game. He’s a low-end QB1 option this week.

SEA QB Geno Smith - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs San Francisco 49ers/strong>

Despite running incredibly cold from a touchdown perspective, Geno Smith has been something of a fantasy asset in 2024 thanks to the Seahawks' pass-happy nature. Smith is averaging 18.2 fantasy points per game, good for QB9 in points per game.

Smith should be able to remain an asset to his managers with a Thursday night tilt against the 49ers, who rank 24th in aFPA to quarterbacks this season. Smith currently projects as a low-end QB1 / high-end QB2, and no one should be surprised if the touchdowns finally come this week.

SEA QB Geno Smith - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. New York Giants/strong>

After a relatively quiet fantasy day in Week 3, Geno Smith delivered in a big way in a Monday Night Football shootout with the Lions in Week 4. Smith passed for 395 yards and a touchdown, rushing five times for another 38 yards, on his way to QB8 figures of 21.6. Smith averages 17.2 fantasy points per game this season.

Smith should be able to keep the music playing in Week 5 with a matchup against the New York Giants, who rank sixth in aFPA to quarterbacks this season. Smith should be in for another top ten scoring game this week.

SEA QB Geno Smith - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Detroit Lions

From a fantasy point of view, Geno Smith wasn't that impressive in the Seahawks beat down of the Miami Dolphins in Week 3. Smith racked up 289 yards and a touchdown, a 71-yard work of art to D.K. Metcalf, but he was intercepted twice and posted -2 yards rushing. Smith finished with 11.4 fantasy points, good for QB22 last week.

Smith has a middling matchup against the Lions in Week 4, so we should expect better things from him this week. He projects to be a high-end QB2, and if the game descends into a shootout so much the better.

SEA QB Geno Smith - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs Miami Dolphins
Geno Smith was given a lot more to do in Week 2, attempting a whopping 44 passes against the Patriots. He completed 33 for 327 yards and a touchdown while adding another eight on five rushing attempts. Smith finished as the QB7 on the week with 17.9 fantasy points.

The Dolphins are reeling somewhat offensively at present, but their pass defense hasn’t been too much of an issue, as they sit 28th in passing yards allowed. Another pass-heavy game plan should keep Smith fantasy relevant as a mid-tier QB2.
