Scouting report

SEA QB Geno Smith - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Kansas City Chiefs

Geno Smith's streak of throwing at least two touchdowns in a game ended at 7 after throwing just one against the 49ers. Understandable against a strong defense on a short week. He did complete over 70% of his passes and also didn't throw an interception for the first time since Week 10. And you may be surprised to find out the Chiefs have allowed the most passing touchdowns this season, so Smith can register another game with at least two scores. Smith sits as a top-ten option for us this week.

SEA QB Geno Smith - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. San Francisco 49ers

Make that seven straight games with at least two touchdown passes for Geno Smith and two straight with three. Even in a losing effort against the Panthers, Smith came through again for fantasy owners. He’s on a short week this week, but he’s home against the 49ers, one of only two teams this season he did not throw a touchdown against. He’ll look to extend his touchdown streak Thursday and with the streak he has been on with DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, he’s a good bet for another solid fantasy day. Consider him a low-end QB1 or high-upside QB2.

SEA QB Geno Smith - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Carolina Panthers

Geno Smith continued his streak of multiple touchdowns in a game. He now has six games in a row throwing at least two touchdowns after throwing three, including his first career go-ahead score in the final minute of a game. Smith is on a roll and that should continue this week against the Panthers, who rank 20th against the pass in DVOA. It's another good week to have Smith in standard leagues and in DFS.

SEA QB Geno Smith - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Los Angeles Rams

Geno Smith now has five straight games with at least two touchdown passes and nine games out of 11. So when Smith throws a touchdown in a game, he'll likely throw a second. He gets the Rams this week, who are still quite banged up and have the season lost at 3-8. Smith remains a low-end QB1 heading into the fantasy playoffs.

SEA QB Geno Smith - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Las Vegas Raiders

Geno Smith went into the bye week on a stretch of four straight games with multiple touchdown passes. It's almost a foregone conclusion that he'll make it five straight, going up against one of the worse defenses in the NFL in the Raiders, who are allowing the third-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks. Geno Smith makes for a great daily fantasy option this week, let alone in weekly leagues.

SEA QB Geno Smith - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Germany

Geno Smith continues adding to his case for Comeback Player of the Year. 275 yards last week against the Cardinals were his most since Week 4 and he marked his third straight multi-touchdown game and 7th this season. His rushing ability only boosts his value. He's again a low-end QB1 this week, even with facing the Buccaneers in Germany. Smith has shown no signs of slowing down anytime soon, so keep rolling with him.

SEA QB Geno Smith - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Arizona Cardinals

The magical season continues for Geno Smith, who now has six games with multiple touchdown passes and has also added some yards on the ground. This week, he gets the Cardinals, ironically enough, one of the teams he has not thrown multiple scores against. He had just 197 yards through the air with no touchdowns in Week 6 against Arizona, but did add 48 yards on the ground. The good news for Smith is that Arizona ranks 23rd in pass defense in DVOA, so a multi-touchdown game again has a good chance of happening for Smith. He can still be rolled out as a starter.
