SEA QB Geno Smith - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. New York Giants

How incredible has this season been for Geno Smith and the Seattle Seahawks? This was supposed to be a rebuilding year for the Seahawks. Instead, Smith is having the season of his life and the Seahawks lead the NFC West through seven weeks. Smith now has five games with at least two touchdown passes in a game and five games with at least 70% completions. His lowest completion percentage in a game this season is 64%. This week, he face one of the other big surprises, the 6-1 New York Giants, who rank 26th against the pass in DVOA. Smith takes care of the football and will get the ball to his guys, though he likely won't have DK Metcalf this week. He still has Tyler Lockett so Smith should still be fine.

SEA QB Geno Smith - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Los Angeles Chargers

Week 6 was Smith's first game without a touchdown since Week 2, but that should only be a minor dip against a Chargers defense that is banged up, inconsistent, and benched their prized free-agent acquisition, J.C. Jackson, during Monday's win against the Broncos. Smith is still worthy of a start this week as he continues to take care of the football (only two interceptions in six games).

SEA QB Geno Smith - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Arizona Cardinals

Who could have ever thought we'd see the day Geno Smith would be a top-ten fantasy option? That's the case for us this week with Smith, who has thrown multiple touchdowns in three straight games, though his streak of 300 yards in a game came to an end. Still, Smith is taking care of the football and has gotten into a groove with DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. Arizona ranks 27th in pass defense DVOA, so another strong day could be on the horizon for Smith. Despite the reports that Drew Lock is supposedly nipping at Smith's heels, Smith isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

SEA QB Geno Smith - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at New Orleans Saints

Who would have thought Geno Smith would become as effective as he has been over the last two weeks? Smith has yet to have a game with less than 70% completions and has two straight 300-yard games. Week 5 presents a tough matchup against a good Saints defense, but Smith is hot and is worth a look as a QB2 and as a DFS option. Smith has made the Seahawks offense worth watching.

SEA QB Geno Smith - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Detroit Lions

After two games with less than 200 yards passing, Geno Smith somehow threw for 325 yards and two touchdowns last week against the Falcons in a losing effort. This week, he gets the Lions who aren't a bad matchup for Smith and also just lost Tracy Walker for the season with an Achilles injury. If you're in a 2QB league, Smith is worth at least a look depending on your options. He's also a very intriguing DFS option this week with Seattle looking like they injected a little juice into their offense last week.

SEA QB Geno Smith - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs. Atlanta Falcons

Two straight weeks of Geno Smith completing 80% of his passes. That's the good news. The bad news is he has yet to hit 200 passing yards. Seattle is going to be a mediocre passing team, but they might look okay against the Falcons, who rank 18th in DVOA against the pass. That's a good step down from their first two opponents. The Broncos rank 6th in Pass DVOA and the 49ers rank 7th. Smith is hardly worth a QB2 look, even against the Falcons.

SEA QB Geno Smith - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs Jaguars

Geno Smith threw an 84-yard touchdown pass to DK Metcalf last week. He threw for 83 yards on the remaining 11 completions. He's averaging just 169 yards through three games. There's a chance this could be the last start for Smith with Seattle going into their bye in Week 9 and Russell Wilson maybe returning in Week 10. For now, Smith is a low-end QB2 but it is a favorable matchup against the Jaguars.
