Giovani Bernard doesn't practice Tuesday

Bengals running back Giovani Bernard did not practice on Tuesday - leaving it highly unlikely he will play in Thursday night's game against the Cleveland Browns.

Bernard is bothered by a hip pointer and clavicle injury that prevented him from practicing last week and from playing in this past Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Fantasy Impact: 

We had a report Monday from a Cincy beat reporter who didn't think Bernard would play, and that's certainly continues holding true to form. Jeremy Hill shapes up to be a great start against a weak Cleveland rush defense.

Bengals beat writer Paul Dehner Jr.replied "won't happen" when asked if Cincy RB Giovani Bernard would play in Week 10.

Fantasy Impact: 

It's a short week so the game is Thursday night at home against Cleveland. It's shaping up to be a great matchup and if Dehner's reply about Bernard is true, it may be another huge week for Jeremy Hill, who would again fill in for Bernard. Coming into Week 9, Cleveland was ranked 28th in allowing fantasy points to RBs.

Bengals RB Giovani Bernard (hip, out) has been ruled out for Week 9. With Bernard out, Jeremy Hill will see feature back duties and is a good bet for 16-20 touches against a so-so Jacksonville defense. Cedric Peerman will likely fill the change-of-pace role.

Fantasy Impact: 

Jeremy Hill should see 15-20 touches as the Bengals’ primary back in a pretty nice matchup against the Jaguars. Cedric Peerman will likely serve as his backup.
