Scouting report

ATL TE Jacob Tamme - Week 8, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Green Bay
Jacob Tamme had just one catch for 17 yards in the Falcons Week 7 loss to the Chargers, but the tight end turned that lone reception into a touchdown. He was targeted three times on the afternoon and has been targeted just six times in his last two games. Tamme is a touchdown-dependent option in deeper leagues, but there should be better options available on your waiver wire if you need to stream the tight end position this week. Tamme ranks as our TE21 for Week 8.

ATL TE Jacob Tamme Week 7, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. San Diego
Jacob Tamme caught two-of-three targets for 16 yards in the Falcons Week 6 loss to the Seahawks. After drawing a combined 16 targets in Atlanta's first two games, Tamme has since just 10 targets in four games since. Matt Ryan continues to spread the ball around to multiple receivers each week and unless the Falcons view their tight ends as a mismatch against an opponent like they did at Oakland in Week 2, Tamme won't see enough volume to be a trusted fantasy starter. He ranks as our TE19 for Week 7 and should be viewed as a low-end TE2.

ATL TE Jacob Tamme - Week 6, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Seattle
Jacob Tamme caught his lone target for one yard in the Falcons Week 5 victory over the Broncos. Matt Ryan exploited the matchup between Tevin Coleman on Denver’s linebackers in the slot and everyone else became an afterthought in the offense. Tamme did score a touchdown in Week 4 against the Panthers, but has been targeted just three times total in the Falcons last two games. Ranked as our TE18 for Week 6, consider other options if you’re looking to stream a tight end this week. Tamme will face the Seahawks, who rank 11th versus fantasy tight ends this season.

ATL TE Jacob Tamme - Week 5, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Denver
Jacob Tamme caught two-of-three passes for three yards, but did find the end zone in the Falcons' Week 4 win over the Panthers. He now has 16 catches for 157 yards and two touchdowns on the year and is on pace to catch 64 passes and eight scores. Ranked as our TE15 for Week 5, view Tamme as a TE2 for Sunday as the Falcons travel to Denver to take on the Broncos.

ATL TE Jacob Tamme - Week 4, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Carolina
Jacob Tamme caught three-of-four targets for 28 yards in the Falcons' Week 3 win over the Saints. He saw eight targets in each of the Falcons' first two games, so the production on Monday night in New Orleans was disappointing for owners who scooped up Tamme as a streaming option. Ranked as our TE17 for Week 4, Tamme is back to being a TE2.

ATL TE Jacob Tamme - Week 3, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at New Orleans
Jacob Tamme caught five passes for 75 yards and a touchdown in the Falcons’ Week 2 win over the Raiders. He was targeted a team-high eight times, although yardage-wise he finished third behind Julio Jones (5-106-1) and rookie tight end Austin Hooper (3-84-0).

The Falcons play the Saints on Monday night and New Orleans owns fantasy’s last-ranked defense versus tight ends, so Tamme has an opportunity for another solid game. Ranked as our TE9, view Tamme as a solid streaming option for Week 3.

ATL TE Jacob Tamme - Week 2, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at Oakland
Jacob Tamme turned his eight targets into six catches for 51 yards in the Falcons’ Week 1 loss to the Bucs. The eight targets were as much as Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu received, so clearly Tamme will remain a big part of Atlanta’s passing game this season. Although Dan Quinn and Co. drafted Stanford tight end Austin Hooper in April, Tamme has a stranglehold on the team’s No. 1 tight end job.

As for Week 2, Tamme has a great matchup against a Raiders defense that allowed 423 yards, four touchdowns and 34 points to the Saints last Sunday, but he lacks big-play ability. With Tamme ranked as our TE15 for Week 2, Zach Miller (TE13) and Jesse James (TE14) are better options for this weekend.
