Scouting report

CIN QB Jake Browning - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Kansas City Chiefs
Jake Browning did throw for 335 yards, but a lot of those were junk yards as they got into a big hole last week. He ended up with only one touchdown pass and three interceptions. So, which Browning will we see this week?

The Bengals play the Chiefs who are ranked 14th in aFPA to quarterbacks. Obviously last week could have been a hiccup or maybe Browning has come back down to earth.

Keep Browning on the bench for Week 17 as he ranks only as a QB2. Kansas City has played well on defense in recent weeks. so we are leaning towards an average fantasy performance.

CIN QB Jake Browning - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Pittsburgh Steelers
Jake Browning had another big day throwing 42 passes and completing 29 of them for 324 yards and two touchdowns. He has become a factor in fantasy although not to the level of starter Joe Burrow. The Bengals have enough weapons although Ja'Marr Chase will not play.

Browning faces the Steelers who are ranked 12th in aFPA to quarterbacks. In the first meeting against Pittsburgh, he threw for 227 yards and a touchdown. The Steelers will have both starting safeties out so the secondary could be vulnerable.

Although there are some positives in this matchup, these games seem to be more defensive in nature. Keep Browning on the bench as a QB2 for Week 16.

CIN QB Jake Browning - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Minnesota Vikings
Jake Browning has been outstanding since taking over for Joe Burrow. He became only the second quarterback in NFL history to complete at least 70% if his passes in this first three starts. Last week, he threw 275 yards and had his first multi-touchdown passing game.

It could get tougher this week as Browning faces the Vikings who are ranked fourth in aFPA to quarterbacks. Minnesota's secondary has been good most of the season so it will be a big challenge for the Bengals.

Keep Browning on the bench for Week 15 as a QB2. Even though he had some success in recent weeks, the matchup says this week could be different.

CIN QB Jake Browning - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Indianapolis Colts
Jake Browning's fantasy stock rose after last week's game as he completed 86.5% of his passes for 354 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for a score. The backup quarterbacks who have played this season have struggled for the most part and even Browning wasn't great in his first start after Joe Burrow went down, but plenty of positives in the upset of Jacksonville.

Browning faces the Colts who are ranked 14th in aFPA to quarterbacks. So, can he repeat his performance last week? Not likely, but he still should have a decent afternoon on Sunday.

Keep Browning on the bench for Week 14 until we see a string of consistent starts for him. But he is good to put on your roster as a backup right now.

CIN QB Jake Browning - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Jacksonville Jaguars
Jake Browning made his first start of the season and it wasn't too bad from a fantasy standpoint. He completed 73% of his passes and threw for 227 yards. He had one touchdown pass and one interception. Obviously, he is not Joe Burrow, but he did give the Bengals a chance to win which is what you want from your backup.

Browning faces the Jaguars who are ranked 24th in aFPA to quarterbacks. Although it is a favorable matchup, and the numbers he put up last week did show some promise and allows him to be ranked as a QB2 for Week 13, Browning should definitely remain on your bench or the waiver wire.
