DEN RB Jaleel McLaughlin - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Minnesota Vikings
Both Jaleel McLaughlin and Samaje Perine are now relegated to backup or change-of-pace duties behind workhorse starter Javonte Williams in Denver. McLaughlin saw eight touches in Week 10, which is well behind the 25 Williams received. McLaughlin is not relevant for fantasy outside of being insurance for an injury to Williams. He will not rank as a viable fantasy starter for Week 11 in a tough matchup against the Vikings run defense.

DEN RB Jaleel McLaughlin - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 @ Buffalo Bills
In the last game before Denver's Week 9 bye, Jaleel McLaughlin was reduced to a change-of-pace role with only six touches on a 14% snap share. It appears that Sean Payton and the coaching staff want to hand the keys to the Broncos' backfield back to Javonte Williams, who is now fully healthy. The Bills are not an imposing matchup for opposing backs, but McLaughlin does not project for enough usage to be seriously considered as a fantasy starter.

DEN RB Jaleel McLaughlin - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Kansas City Chiefs
Jaleel McLaughlin's playing time took a nosedive with Javonte Williams back to full health in Week 8. McLaughlin only saw a 17% snap share last week, and his six touches finished well behind Williams' 18. McLaughlin showed some promise during his fill-in stint, but it appears clear that the team views Williams as the lead back with McLaughlin and Samaje Perine mixing in for a few touches each week. The Broncos have to deal with the Chiefs' strong defense this week, and the tough matchup combined with McLaughlin's limited usage takes him out of starting consideration against Kansas City.

DEN RB Jaleel McLaughlin - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Green Bay Packers
Even with Javonte Williams back in the fold in Week 6, Jaleel McLaughlin remained involved in the Denver backfield with seven carries and two targets on a 40% snap share. McLaughlin has looked interesting in his limited playing time this year, but with him, Williams, and Samaje Perine all seeing snaps, the Denver backfield has become a full-blown nightmare scenario for fantasy purposes. For now it looks like McLaughlin and Williams will split early-down work with Perine working as a strict pass-catching specialist, which makes all three players flimsy fantasy options. The Packers present a good matchup for opposing RBs, but the usage split with Williams and Perine takes McLaughlin off the fantasy radar for Week 7.

DEN RB Jaleel McLaughlin - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Kansas City Chiefs
Since coming on in relief when Javonte Williams got hurt in Week 4, Jaleel McLaughlin has shown off explosive efficiency. On 22 touches over the last two weeks, McLaughlin has racked up 193 total yards, good for 8.8 yards per touch. Obviously, McLaughlin's fantasy viability is dependent in large part on Williams' health, but he has earned a more prominent role in the offense even when Williams returns given his excellent play of late. There is a good chance Williams returns for this Thursday's game against the Chiefs, which would take McLaughlin out of starting consideration in most leagues. That being said, he should be rostered in all leagues as a high-upside bench stash at the very least, and a player who could see his role grow as the season progresses.

DEN RB Jaleel McLaughlin - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. New York Jets
Jaleel McLaughlin saw extra work in Week 4 due to Javonte Williams' early exit due to injury, and if Williams misses Week 5 McLaughlin would make for an interesting fantasy option given what he's done with his opportunity so far. McLaughlin posted 104 total yards on seven carries and three receptions last week, displaying great efficiency as a runner and pass catcher. McLaughlin's fantasy situation obviously hinges in large part on Williams' health (Williams returned to a limited practice on Thursday), but whoever starts for Denver on Sunday will have to deal with a difficult Jets defense that boasts a strong front seven. If you picked McLaughlin up off waivers this week, make sure to monitor the practice reports in Denver this week. Should Williams miss this week, McLaughlin projects for enough volume to at least get on the flex radar in fantasy.
