Jacksonville feels fairly confident in the trio of Mike Thomas, Jason Hill and Cecil Shorts. Any preseason contribution from Jarett Dillard would be considered a plus. It does not appear as if Tiquan Underwood will get his third shot to make the roster as he's proven himself to not be ready for NFL competition.

The Jaguars signed tight end Ernest Wilford on Thursday. Wilford was cut when the Jaguars made their final cuts Sept. 5.

Because Wilford is a vested veteran and wasn’t on the roster for the season opener, his salary will not be guaranteed for 2010. The Jaguars waived first-year wide receiver John Matthews to make room for Wilford on the roster.

Stress fracture for Dillard
A week ago during Thursday's practice, Jaguars receiver Jarett Dillard stepped on his foot wrong, felt pain and knew something was wrong.

Dillard, who the Jaguars put on injured reserve on Saturday, now has a full-blown stress fracture. He missed most of training camp with the beginnings of a stress fracture and let it heal to prevent a more serious injury.

Much to Dillard's frustration, that more serious injury is here.
