Scouting report

DEN RB Javonte Williams - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 @ Baltimore Ravens
In a soft Week 7 matchup, Javonte Williams found the end zone twice and crushed it for fantasy managers willing to force him into lineups, ending up with 24.6 half-PPR fantasy points. Sadly, he had a huge let-down performance by averaged 2.59 yards per carry against arguably the worst defense in the league in Week 8. He gets a more stout Ravens defense in Week 9, which pushes him down to RB3 territory.

DEN RB Javonte Williams - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs.Carolina Panthers
In a soft Week 7 matchup, Javonte Williams found the end zone twice and crushed it for fantasy managers willing to force him into lineups, ending up with 24.6 half-PPR fantasy points. He gets a very familiar matchup against a bottom-3 rush defense and should be considered a strong RB2 once again.

DEN RB Javonte Williams - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 @ New Orleans Saints
Yet another downtrodden effort from the Broncos and Javonte Williams in Week 6, but things are looking up. The Saints defense has been absolutely obliterated by running back recently, and Williams will get his chance at it on Thursday Night. He likely doesn't have the ceiling for anything close to an RB1 performance but he has a solid enough floor to consider him an RB2.

DEN RB Javonte Williams - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Los Angeles Chargers
Things had been pretty miserable for Javonte Williams heading into Week 4 but he surprisingly commanded 19 opportunities and looked far more effective with the ball in his hands on the way to 80 total yards. It still only equated to 9.0 half-PPR points, which matched his season-high, before turning in a 13.6-point outing in Week 5. He has obviously re-taken the locked-in No. 1 RB role, but it doesn't make him anything more than a low-end RB2 in fantasy.

DEN RB Javonte Williams - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Las Vegas Raiders
Things had been pretty miserable for Javonte Williams heading into Week 4 but he surprisingly commanded 19 opportunities and looked far more effective with the ball in his hands on the way to 80 total yards. It still only equated to 9.0 half-PPR points, which matched his season-high. He has, presumably, re-taken the locked-in No. 1 RB role, but it doesn't make him anything more than a low-end RB2 in fantasy.

DEN RB Javonte Williams - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 @ New York Jets
Things have gone from bad to worse with Javonte Williams through three weeks, and we could realistically see him with a snap rate closer to 20% than 50% at any time. On top of a fumble in Week 3, he managed 12 yards on five carries, and that wasn't even out of the ordinary for a back who looks like he has lost all of the burst we (vaguely) remember from his rookie season. Bench Williams everywhere.

DEN RB Javonte Williams - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
We had been expecting the Broncos to make a move on one of their running backs, and they did eventually cut Samaje Perine, though Javonte Williams still looks like a spoke in an RBBC wheel. We'll see how much of a share he demands after a disappointing eight-carry game in Week 1 and an 11-carry, 17-yard Week 2. Williams should be a fringe RB3/4 this week.
