SEA WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Detroit Lions

Jaxon Smith-Njigba was quiet against the Dolphins, with just three catches for 39 yards on his way to 5.4 Half PPR points. He was the WR60 in Week 4.

The Week 4 game plan should call for more Seahawks pass attempts against the Lions, which is good news for Smith-Njigba and his fellow receivers. Expect a bounce back towards respectable WR3 numbers this week.

SEA WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs Miami Dolphins
Jaxon Smith-Njigba enjoyed a career day against the Patriots in Week 2. The second-year wideout caught 12 of his whopping 16 targets for 117 yards on his way to 17.7 Half PPR points. He finished as the WR12 for the week.

The Miami pass defense has been stingy towards wideouts so far in 2024, ranking 31st in receptions and 23rd in yards allowed. An increase in pass volume should help Smith-Njigba moving forward, but it’s hard to project him as more than a high-end WR3 this week.

SEA WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at New England Patriots

A less-than-full commitment to the passing game by the Seahawks in Week 1 hurt Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who came away from the week with two grabs for 19 yards. 74 wide receivers scored more fantasy points than the 2.9 Half PPR points Smith-Njigba managed,

A commitment to low passing volume will hurt Smith-Njigba and the other members of this receiving corps, even in games where the matchup appears to suit them, like this one against the Patriots. The uncertainty around opportunity makes it hard to trust any of these pass catchers, and that's why Smith-Njigba has to be viewed as a WR4 this week.

SEA WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. Denver Broncos

Jaxon Smith-Njigba's second season gets underway with a far-from-simple clash with the Denver Broncos, one of the stingiest outfits toward fantasy WRs in 2023. The Broncos ranked 4th in aFPA to the position last season. There is optimism that JSN will show some serious growth in his sophomore campaign, but anything above WR4 numbers this week would be a bonus.

SEA WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

Jaxon Smith-Njigba has quietly been a little more involved in the offense the last few weeks during Seattle’s playoff push. He has double-digit fantasy points in three of his last four games. If you’re in a deep league, JSN might have some potential interest. But he’s still just a deep play as he’s still third in the pecking order and on a team that still likes to run the football. Just be cautiously optimistic if you’re starting him.

SEA WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Tennessee Titans

Jaxon Smith-Njigba caught four passes for 48 yards and the game-winning touchdown against the Eagles. He still remains the No. 3 option in Seattle so his fantasy ceiling is capped by DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. JSN is a borderline WR3/Flex option this week as he does have a favorable matchup against the Titans.

SEA WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Going into the fantasy playoffs, Jaxon Smith-Njigba has had a couple of nice performances, but with every team available and JSN still down in the pecking order, despite the good matchup against the Eagles, JSN is very much a risky play. The quarterback is still banged up and Smith will look to DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett first, so you’d have to catch lightning in a bottle here.
