Scouting report

GB WR Jayden Reed - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Detroit Lions

Jayden Reed has seen has role expand over the last three weeks. He ran just 45% of the routes in Week 9 and was up to 77% last week. While Reed didn't have a huge receiving day with just 46 scoreless yards on 4 receptions, he led the Packers in rushing with 46 yards and a touchdown. Reed seems to have taken over the gadget role that Christian Watson saw a lot of success in last year. Reed's aDOT was just 5.6 yards against the Chargers.

While Reed's role continues to expand and the coaching staff finds more creative ways to use him, the volume just isn't there yet. Reed is WR40 in our 4for4 rankings which puts him on the border of a WR3 and flex play. Given the positive matchup and the built-in floor with a few rushing attempts, I'd feel comfortable starting him as a WR3 this week.

GB WR Jayden Reed - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Jayden Reed continues to see the fewest snaps out of the main three receivers, but he leads the Packers in receiving yards and big plays. He caught all 5 of his targets for 84 yards and a touchdown against the Steelers and moves on to a much easier matchup in Week 11 against the Chargers.

The Chargers rank 27th aFPA against wide receivers and have given up quite a few big plays this season. Reed is a borderline WR3 this week and, at worst, a flex option in a great matchup. The volume isn't going to be there and his aDOT was down to 11.0 last week, but the ability to break a big play adds some ceiling that other options you could flex might be lacking, the great matchup is just the cherry on top.

GB WR Jayden Reed - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Pittsburgh Steelers

Jayden Reed had another slow week and unfortunately saw his snap share hit it's lowest percentage of the season. Reed (45%) saw fewer snaps than Dontayvion Wicks (48%) for the first time all season against the Rams. It's definitely something to monitor moving forward. Weirdly, Reed had the highest targets per route run last week of the top three receivers, but the emergence of Wicks is certainly going to hamper all three.

The Steelers are 29th aFPA against the wide receiver position, but it's tough to take a chance on any of the Packers receivers at the moment. While Reed is on the flex radar, with the loss of snaps and the ball being spread around so much I'd look in another direction.

GB WR Jayden Reed - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs Los Angeles Rams

Jayden Reed led the Packers in receiving last week with 4 catches for 83 yards on 6 targets. He continues a rollercoaster of a season with Christian Watson back. He's the toughest to project every week given he sees the fewest targets. His aDOT has come down recently with the return of Watson, but will occasionally see a deep target or two.

He remains a flex option, but a risky one given his role, the offense, and the matchup. Reed is startable if you're desperate, but there might be a more consistent option on your bench. With the Rams being 9th in aFPA against wide receivers, it isn't crazy to look elsewhere.

GB WR Jayden Reed - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Minnesota Vikings

Jayden Reed had a miracle touchdown bounce into his arms to salvage his day against the Broncos. He's running third behind Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs in the snaps and targets department and that unfortunately makes him a little tougher to trust.

Against Minnesota, Reed should at least see the snaps as Green Bay could likely be trailing, but coming in at No. 57 in our weekly WR rankings it would be tough to consider him anything more than a desperation flex option this week.

GB WR Jayden Reed - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Denver Broncos/strong>

Jayden Reed has been the player most impacted by the return of Christian Watson. Unfortunately for Reed, he's seen his targets drop from 8 to 7 to 5 to 2 over the previous four weeks before the bye. While this is a solid matchup for Reed and the pass-catchers, this is a bit of a desperate play.

If it weren't for the bye-week situation, I'd be hesitant to start Reed this week. However, given the six teams on bye, he does hold some flex appeal. If you're missing a receiver or two this week, I can understand starting Reed given the matchup, but be prepared for disappointment.

GB WR Jayden Reed - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Las Vegas Raiders

Jayden Reed took a bit of a backseat to Romeo Doubs again in Week 4. While Reed was still second in targets, we have to assume when Christian Watson is fully healthy he'll also be behind him in the pecking order as well. That said, Reed is seeing deep targets and leads the Packers' top three receivers with a 13.57 aDOT.

Reed is on the flex radar this week, but I would be looking for other options if available. If you have a few Chargers or Browns you might not really have a choice but to start Reed.
