Scouting report

by Dale Lolley

SF WR Jeremy Kerley - Week 17, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Seattle
Kerley had five catches for 62 yards last week and now has five catches in each of his past three games. That's OK for PPR usage, but that's about all Kerley is good for as a flex play given his low potential for big yardage or scoring.

SF WR Jeremy Kerley - Week 16, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Los Angeles
Kerley led the 49ers in receptions with his second consecutive week of five receptions. Trouble was, they went for just 28 yards. He's more valuable in PPR leagues right now, and that's barely so. Kerley did have seven receptions for 61 yards against the Rams all the way back in Week 1, but he's a risky start, even as a flex in this popgun offense.

SF WR Jeremy Kerley - Week 15, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Atlanta
Kerley had five catches for 50 yards last week, which was more production than he had in the previous three games combined. He's scored just three times this season, so you can't count on that either. Even with a good matchup, nobody should trust the San Francisco passing game.

SF WR Jeremy Kerley - Week 12, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Miami
Up, down and all around. That's Kerley's production this season. After posting a 7-71-1 line at Arizona in Week 10, Kerley was shut out last week despite six targets. The six targets do still, at least give him some appeal. But with little consistency in the 49ers' passing attack, there are better options out there.

SF WR Jeremy Kerley - Week 11, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. New England
Colin Kapernick finally found Kerley in the slot and he responded with a 7-71-1 line, his best day since the 49ers made the QB change. Those seven receptions matched what he had done in the previous three games combined, so play Kerley at your own risk.

SF WR Jeremy Kerley - Week 10, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Arizona
Kerley had just three catches for 22 yards in a game in which the 49ers threw for nearly 400 yards. He's averaged 16 yards per game since Colin Kaperernick took over at QB. That's not a good trend. Kerley shouldn't be in your lineup.

SF WR Jeremy Kerley - Week 9, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. New Orleans
Kerley has seen seven and five targets with Colin Kaepernick at QB, but has turned those 12 targets into just four receptions for 27 yards. Kaepernick just isn't a good underneath passer. Perhaps the bye week allowed the duo to work on their timing (which is crucial for a slot receiver), but Kerley is nothing more than a flex option in PPR leagues at this point, even against a soft New Orleans pass defense.
