Scouting report

GB TE Jimmy Graham - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 at Chicago
Jimmy Graham was back at practice Tuesday after sitting out early with a finger injury and should be good to go against the Bears. But what will that mean? In two games against the Bears last season, Graham got four targets in each contest, catching five for just 40 yards. There are many better options available this week with everyone playing in Week 1. Hopefully, you have one of those better options available.

GB TE Jimmy Graham - 2019 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
Jimmy Graham is entering his second season in Green Bay and should have a better rapport with Aaron Rodgers. He had 55 catches for 636 yards and two touchdowns last season, which wasn't bad. But for a guy who had 10 touchdowns the previous season in Seattle, it was something of a disappointment.

Fantasy Downside
At 32, Graham doesn't really run well any longer. That was one of the things that made him special in the past. He's still a big target, but the lack of touchdown production last season was shocking. Rodgers favors Davante Adams when he gets down close.

2019 Bottom Line
Graham has produced at least nine touchdowns in five of his nine seasons, which is why last year was such a surprise. He should post similar catch numbers to a year ago. If he can add a few more touchdowns catches to his total, as well, he would be a serviceable No. 2 fantasy tight end. But his days as a No. 1 are over.

GB TE Jimmy Graham - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Detroit Lions

Jimmy Graham had three receptions for 34 yards last week, pretty much doing what he's topped out at over the past several weeks. But he had six receptions for 76 yards against the Lions earlier this season. And Detroit just allowed a monster day to Minnesota's Kyle Rudolph. Don't be surprised if Graham gets some extra looks this week that could make him a low-end TE1 play.

GB TE Jimmy Graham - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at N.Y. Jets

Jimmy Graham has played through injuries but his play has been limited, to be sure. He managed just three catches for 32 yards last week and now faces a Jets defense that has shut down opposing tight ends all season. He's averaging 29 yards receiving over his past eight games and there's no reason to think that is going to change this week.

GB TE Jimmy Graham - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Chicago Bears

Jimmy Graham had just two catches for 13 yards last week and now faces a Chicago defense that has been one of the best teams in the league at stopping opposing tight ends. Even in a tight end-starved league, he's not worth a start this week.

GB TE Jimmy Graham - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Atlanta Falcons

Broken thumb or no, Jimmy Graham caught a season-high eight passes last week. Even though they went for just 50 yards. That was, however, just his second game since the Week 7 bye with 50 or more yards. But hey, he got 22 percent of the targets in the Green Bay passing game last week, so maybe there's something there. There are certainly worse starts at tight end this week. Graham is a low-end TE1 play.

GB TE Jimmy Graham - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Arizona Cardinals

Jimmy Graham played through his injury issues last week and caught two passes for 34 yards, which is actually better than he had done in most games recently. But don't expect any kind of blowout game from him this week. He's still dealing with a broken thumb and the Cardinals are solid against opposing tight ends and Graham has just 16 targets -- nine catches -- in his past five games.
