BAL RB J.K. Dobbins - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Cleveland Browns

J.K. Dobbins returned to action last week against the Steelers and had a great game, rushing for 120 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries. Dobbins still shared time with Gus Edwards, who had 13 carries of his own, and the team will likely continue to use both backs for the remainder of the season as long as both remain healthy.

Dobbins has a great matchup this week against the Browns, who rank 31st in aFPA to opposing running backs. Expect Dobbins to get a nice share of the workload again and to thrive in a nice matchup. There’s definitely risk based on the fickle usage of the Baltimore backfield, but we have Dobbins ranked as a low-end RB2 in a nice matchup.

BAL RB J.K. Dobbins - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Cleveland Browns

J.K. Dobbins was held to just 15 yards on seven carries last week against the Giants and he left the game after his knee tightened up on him. His status is in question heading into this weekend’s tilt against the Browns, but even if he’s active, he should be considered a risky bet. Not only is his knee a concern, he also has zero targets in his last two games. Dobbins has long-term upside, but it appears the Ravens will continue to be careful with him, health-wise, so fantasy managers should take a wait-and-see approach.

Update: Dobbins is out for 4-6 weeks, so be sure to get him in an IR slot and out of your lineup.

BAL RB J.K. Dobbins - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at New York Giants

After a pair of touchdowns in Week 2, J.K. Dobbins was held to 44 scoreless yards on eight carries last week against the Bengals. Dobbins still led the team’s running backs in carries, however, and should be considered the primary option in the Baltimore backfield.

The Giants rank 10th in aFPA to opposing running backs, so it’s not going to be an easy matchup for Dobbins this week. Expect a low-scoring affair, which should give Dobbins an opportunity to rack up touches. We have him as a low-end RB2 option this week.

BAL RB J.K. Dobbins - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Cincinnati Bengals

J.K. Dobbins had an increased snap count last week against the Bills, seeing 50% of the team’s offensive snaps. He rewarded the team with 41 yards on 13 carries, four catches for 22 yards, and a pair of touchdowns. Dobbins should continue to get more work in this offense, with Justice Hill taking a step back into a true complementary role.

This week, Dobbins faces a Bengals defense that ranks 24th in aFPA to opposing running backs so far this season. It’s possible we see Gus Edwards back this week, but either way, expect Dobbins to lead the backfield. With a nice matchup and a clean bill of health, we have Dobbins ranked as an RB2 this week.

BAL RB J.K. Dobbins - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Buffalo Bills

J.K. Dobbins was eased back into action last week against the Patriots, rushing for 23 yards on seven carries and adding 17 yards on a pair of receptions. Dobbins split time with Justice Hill, who had been an afterthought through the first two weeks, but fantasy managers should expect Dobbins to eventually take over the primary ball-carrier role.

This week, Dobbins faces a Bills team that allowed a pair of touchdowns to Chase Edmonds last week, but limited the Dolphins to just 2.4 yards per carry on the day. The Bills have talent in their front seven, and coupled with the uncertainty of the snap-share in the Ravens’ backfield, Dobbins remains a wait-and-see option in most leagues.

BAL RB J.K. Dobbins - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at New England Patriots

J.K. Dobbins missed the first two weeks of the season, but has been a game-time decision and will be worth monitoring again this week. Dobbins was effective in the red zone when he was last on the field in 2020, and Kenyan Drake has been middling at best as the starting running back in Baltimore. If Dobbins does play, he’s worth considering as a risky flex start against the Patriots, who looks pretty stout defensively. Proceed with caution.

BAL RB J.K. Dobbins - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. Miami Dolphins

J.K. Dobbins missed Week 1, but was a game-time decision and will be worth monitoring again this week. Dobbins was effective in the red zone when he was last on the field in 2020, and Kenyan Drake and Mike Davis didn’t exactly light the world on fire in relief last week against the Jets. If Dobbins does play, he’s worth considering as a risky flex start against the Dolphins, who stuffed the Patriots last week, overall, but still allowed 5.3 yards per carry to Damien Harris. Proceed with caution.
