BAL RB J.K. Dobbins - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Dallas Cowboys

J.K. Dobbins got a full workload for just the third time this season against the Titans before missing last week because of COVID, and answered with 85 total yards and a touchdown on 15 carries and a pair of receptions. If Dobbins can get that kind of work consistently, he’ll be considered a viable RB2 option moving forward. There’s optimism for that, since Mark Ingram has been basically an afterthought in his last two healthy games.

This week, Dobbins faces a Cowboys defense that ranks 13th in aFPA to opposing running backs. He’s a little risky because we don’t know for sure he’s going to get that full workload again, but if he does, the sky is the limit on his upside. We have him ranked as a solid RB2 option with a high ceiling.

BAL RB J.K. Dobbins - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Pittsburgh Steelers

J.K. Dobbins got a full workload for just the third time this season against the Titans last week, and answered with 85 total yards and a touchdown on 15 carries and a pair of receptions. If Dobbins can get that kind of work consistently, he’ll be considered a viable RB2 option moving forward. There’s optimism for that, since Mark Ingram has been basically an afterthought the past two weeks since returning from injury.

This week, Dobbins faces a Steelers defense that ranks seventh in aFPA to opposing running backs. With all three backs likely available, Dobbins is a risky fringe-RB2 with upside because of his playmaking ability. But keep an eye on his status, and the status of the game in general. It’s been moved multiple times already.

Update: Dobbins is apparently out, despite coming off the COVID list. Be sure to adjust your lineups.

BAL RB J.K. Dobbins - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Tennessee Titans

J.K. Dobbins only had six touches last week against the Patriots, finishing with only 14 yards from scrimmage, including one yard on his lone reception. This week, Dobbins has upside against the Titans, who rank 29th in aFPA to opposing running backs. However, it’s hard to trust any of the Baltimore running backs with the committee they have in the backfield. If Dobbins gets double-digit touches, we can hope for RB2 numbers. That’s too risky to bank on in most leagues though, so even in a good matchup, he’s a boom-or-bust RB3 option.

BAL RB J.K. Dobbins - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at New England Patriots

J.K. Dobbins had 14 touches last week with Mark Ingram out again – including a pair of receptions – but totaled just 35 total yards in a victory over the Colts. Dobbins should produce more than that in most weeks if given a similar workload, so fantasy owners should keep him on their radar with Ingram likely to remain sidelined against the Patriots.

New England ranks 21st in aFPA to opposing running backs, so there’s upside for Dobbins if he can get the workload. Dobbins has shown some playmaking ability in limited stints this season, and assuming Ingram misses the game as expected, he has legit RB2 upside.

BAL RB J.K. Dobbins - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Indianapolis Colts

J.K. Dobbins had a nice game against the Steelers last week with Mark Ingram shelved. He wound up with 113 yards on 15 carries, splitting time with Gus Edwards. Should Ingram miss more time, Dobbins could continue to get increased work. If he sees 15 carries again, he’ll have a legitimate shot at RB2 numbers.

This week, Dobbins faces the Colts. It’s not a great matchup, as they rank second in the league in aFPA to opposing running backs, and just held the duo of Adrian Peterson and DeAndre Swift to eight yards on 11 carries last week. Still, assuming Ingram is out again, as expected, Dobbins has RB2/flex value due to potential volume.

BAL RB J.K. Dobbins - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

J.K. Dobbins had 11 touches, including a pair of receptions, for 29 yards against the Eagles before the bye last week. He could see an uptick in work with Mark Ingram hobbled, but based on the way the touches went after Ingram left the Eagles game, it’s more likely Dobbins continues to see 6-10 touches, while Gus Edwards handles a lot of the two-down work. Dobbins has potential in deep leagues, but he mostly remains a dynasty-stash until the backfield is less crowded, or until we see him start getting more than six touches per game. Still, redraft owners should consider adding him to the back end of rosters on the off-chance he’s unowned, just in case Ingram is out for a while and he finds himself the hot-hand. Sit him against a tough Steelers defense this week.

BAL RB J.K. Dobbins - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Philadelphia Eagles

J.K. Dobbins had 55 total yards on one carry and three receptions last week in a blowout victory over the Bengals. The Ravens are using a three-running back approach this season, which has been effective in helping them to a 4-1 record, but not very effective in helping fantasy owners find success. Dobbins is averaging just five touches per game and hasn’t scored a touchdown since finding the end zone twice in the opener. Until his workload increases, he should stay on the bench.
