Joe Banyard - Week 13 vs. Carolina Panthers
Joe Banyard is an intriguing option this week. Jerick McKinnon has been ruled out, which leaves the Vikings with Matt Asiata, Ben Tate and Banyard. Tate didn't touch the ball last week, which means he may still be learning the system. Banyard on the other hand carried the ball five times for 26 yards and caught three passes for 19 yards.
He had an impressive preseason finishing with 212 yards (second-highest this season) on 36 carries (5.9 ypc). The negative on Banyard is the Vikings will likely lean on Asiata who is returning from a concussion. Although Minnesota appeared to give up on Asiata after the emergence of McKinnon.
Banyard draws a favorable matchup against Carolina this week. But Banyard may not get enough touches to make it worthwhile. He's a poor flex play this week.
