MIN WR Jordan Addison - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Jordan Addison comes in to his rookie debut ranked as WR38 in our projections. We have him slated to tally about four receptions for 40 yards. The Tampa Bay defense was exploited by wide receivers in 2022, giving up 17 touchdowns to wide receivers. If he emerges as the clear-cut WR2 in Week 1, there's a clear path to fantasy relevance right out of the gate but there are plenty of mouths to feed in Minnesota.

MIN WR Jordan Addison - 2023 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
Despite his smaller stature (6'0", 173 pounds), Jordan Addison's college production was undeniable and he's expected to bring that same level of performance to the NFL as a rookie. He was drafted by the Vikings in the 1st round (23rd overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft. With the departure of Adam Thielen, Addison is projected to step up as the No. 2 wideout behind Justin Jefferson. This position in a high-powered offense like the Vikings' gives him a significant upside for the 2023 season.

Fantasy Downside
The main concern with Addison is his size. At 6'0" and 173 pounds, he's on the smaller side for a wide receiver, which could potentially limit his effectiveness in the NFL. Additionally, as a rookie, he'll be facing a steep learning curve as he adjusts to the speed and complexity of the professional game. He'll also be competing with other established receivers on the Vikings' roster for targets.

2023 Bottom Line
Addison is a promising prospect for the 2023 fantasy season. He's currently ranked as WR40 in our projections. His role as the No. 2 wideout in the Vikings' offense gives him a significant opportunity to produce. He's worth considering as a WR4 with the potential to beat his ADP if things break right. Addison's recent speeding incident doesn't look like it will cost him any playing time but it isn't exactly a positive either.
