Fantasy Upside
At 6’7”, Joseph Fauria is a tall option for QB Matthew Stafford, especially in the red zone. Fauria caught seven TDs during his rookie campaign and even created a famous touchdown dance. He has the best hands of the Lions TEs and improved on his blocking last year.
Fantasy Downside
After becoming ‘Touchdown Joe’ in ’13, Joseph had just one score last year. Battling ankle injuries, he played in just seven contests, resulting in six receptions in ‘14. In two seasons, Joseph has only 24 total catches.
Bottom Line
With Eric Ebron the receiving TE and Brandon Pettigrew the blocking TE, Fauria finds himself No. 3 on the depth chart. He’s way too risky to draft, especially after the sophomore slump, however be sure to keep an eye on him when the season begins. He’s not going to have big reception numbers, but if he gets hot near the goal line, he could make for a decent fill in.
