NYG K Josh Brown - Week 10, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 – Josh Brown vs. Seattle
Josh Brown got to kick a field goal last week against the Colts, a rare event this season for the veteran. The Giants have not given Brown much of an opportunity to put up points this season, and as a result, he’s had very little fantasy value. It’s hard to expect that to change this week against Seattle, and fantasy owners should look to a player that has had a little more success this year rather than rolling with Brown. Leave him on waivers.

NYG K Josh Brown - Week 9, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 – Josh Brown vs. Indianapolis
Josh Brown has only made seven field goals this year and ranks tied for 31st in the league in attempts. He didn’t get an attempt against the Cowboys before the bye last week, and it seems as though there’s just no reason to trust that he’ll start putting up numbers at this time. Fantasy owners should leave him on waivers.

NYG K Josh Brown - Week 7, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 – Josh Brown vs. Dallas
Josh Brown didn’t get a chance to kick anything last week in what should’ve been an easy matchup against the Eagles. The Giants were shut out and the offense couldn’t move the ball at all, in part due to the line giving up eight sacks. The Giants shouldn’t be quite so pitiful two weeks in a row on offense, but a matchup against the surprisingly effective Dallas defense doesn’t bode well for an already inconsistent fantasy kicker. Fantasy owners should look elsewhere.

NYG K Josh Brown - Week 6, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 – Josh Brown vs. Philadelphia
Josh Brown was valuable last week, knocking in all three field goal attempts against the Falcons, including ones from 49 and 50 yards in a Giants win. Brown remains an inconsistent option however on a team that seems to be offensively streaky. As the season continues, Brown may gain more value, but for the time being, he’s a middle of the road fantasy option with equal up and downside.

NYG K Josh Brown - Week 5, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 – Josh Brown vs. Atlanta

Josh Brown hit his first three field goal attempts in Week 3 against the Texans, and then was 1 of 1 in a route against Washington last week. The Giants rarely had to settle for field goals against a Washington team that couldn’t stop the New York offense, so Brown also ended up with six extra points.

This week, Brown will face the Falcons coming off a loss to the Vikings on Sunday. The Falcons struggle on defense and with the Giants offense finally clicking, Brown has some value. He is still a risky start however with the Giants really only showing signs of life on offense for two out of the first four weeks of the season. It’s tempting to use him as an upside guy, but there probably are better options available on waivers.

NYG K Josh Brown - Week 4, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 – Josh Brown vs. Washington

Josh Brown put up good numbers in a Week 3 win over the Houston Texans, going 3-for-3 on field goal attempts and knocking in three extra points as well. This week, Brown faces a Washington team that was in a shootout last week against the Eagles, so there’s some upside in playing the veteran. However, the Giants offense is still a risky thing to bet on, especially after only one week of looking viable. Until we see it more consistently, Brown probably isn’t worth picking up, and fantasy owners should have better kicking options available to them.

NYG K Josh Brown - Week 3, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 – Josh Brown vs. Houston
Josh Brown didn’t even get a chance to kick a field goal last week against the Cardinals, as the Giants offense continued to struggle. This week shouldn’t get any easier against a tough Texans defense that has obliterated the Raiders and Washington the last two weeks, making Brown a waiver wire guy and not worth a roster spot in most fantasy leagues.
