NYG K Josh Brown - Week 17, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 – Josh Brown vs. Philadelphia
Josh Brown made three of his four field goal attempts last week against the Rams, hitting a 54 yarder and having a late chip shot blocked. Brown has been much better in recent weeks than he was early in the season when he had limited opportunities. This week, he faces an Eagles defense that allows nearly 25 points a game this season and he should find some more opportunities to add to his season totals. Brown isn’t a great option, as he hasn’t been solid enough this year to speak of him with the top guys in the league, but he has shown enough recently to think he’ll get a couple of attempts this weekend against Philly. He’s a fringe fantasy starter this week.

NYG K Josh Brown - Week 16, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 – Josh Brown vs. St. Louis
Josh Brown made his only field goal attempt last week, along with all three extra point attempts. The Giants have pretty much been a one man show on offense in recent weeks, with rookie WR Odell Beckham killing it over the second half of this year. Brown faces a tough St. Louis defense this week that, while giving up several field goals last week and no touchdowns, will be difficult to move the ball against. Brown hasn’t been good enough to warrant starting this season, and there’s no reason to think he’ll be a good fantasy option against such a difficult opponent in Week 16.

NYG K Josh Brown - Week 15, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 – Josh Brown vs. Washington

Josh Brown finally got his chance to shine last week against the Titans, as the Giants put a beating on Tennessee and Brown was a perfect five for five on field goal attempts. He even hit one from beyond 50 yards.

Don’t expect production like that from Brown week-to-week, but if you need someone in Week 15, you could do worse than Brown against a Washington team that has been a train wreck in recent weeks and is giving up over 26 points per game this season. We have Brown as a fringe starter this week and this might be the only week worth grabbing him if you need a kicker.

NYG K Josh Brown - Week 14, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 – Josh Brown vs. Tennessee

Josh Brown made a late 33 yard field goal last week against the Jaguars but missed a 43 yarder wide right in the third that ended up being a difference in the game. The Giants lost, and Brown continued his poor fantasy season.

The Giants have an excellent matchup against the Titans this week, but Brown has simply not put up fantasy numbers this year worth rostering him. Even with a good matchup, there’s no reason to grab Brown off waivers now, as he ranks 31st in the league in field goal attempts.

NYG K Josh Brown - Week 13, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 – Josh Brown vs. Jacksonville
Josh Brown didn’t get to attempt a field goal last week against the Cowboys, as it seems the Giants either score big or don’t score at all. Brown ranks 30th in the league in field goals made, despite kicking 100 percent on the season. The Giants rank dead last in field goal attempts, and it seems as though this just isn’t the year for the New York kicking game. Even against a struggling Jaguars team, Brown should not be considered worth a roster spot.

NYG K Josh Brown - Week 12, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 – Josh Brown vs. Dallas
Josh Brown made his only field goal attempt against the 49ers last week, a 43 yard kick that narrowed the deficit to one score midway through the third quarter. This would be the last time the Giants got points though, Brown continues to be a player hampered by a struggling Giants offense. Leave Brown on waivers this week as well. The Cowboys have allowed the least adjusted fantasy points to opposing kickers this season, and Brown hasn’t been consistent enough to warrant any expectations for a breakthrough this week.

NYG K Josh Brown - Week 11, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 – Josh Brown vs. San Francisco
Josh Brown got a rare field goal opportunity last week, nailing his only attempt, a 41 yarder to close out the first half of a Giants loss. Brown simply doesn’t get enough opportunities to make him a viable week to week fantasy option, and against a tough 49ers defense this week, there’s no reason to add him to your roster now.
