MIN WR Justin Jefferson - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Detroit

Jefferson had a solid last week against the New Orleans Saints as he caught 6-of-10 targets for 85 yards. More impressively, Jefferson did this while be shadowed by Marshon Lattimore, indicative of his elite receiver status.

This week, Jefferson will take on the Detroit Lions who rank 30th in aFPA to WRs this season. He caught 3 balls for 64 yards last time out against the Lions, so we have a feeling for his floor looks like this week. With Dalvin Cook expected to miss the game, the Minnesota passing attack will be relied on heavily to keep the offense going. Jefferson will be a WR1 this week.

MIN WR Justin Jefferson - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at New Orleans

Jefferson had an excellent game last week against the Chicago Bears as he caught 8-of-11 targets for 104 yards. Kirk Cousins had eyes for Jefferson all game long, even out-targeting Adam Thielen 11 to 3. Jefferson also almost had a touchdown late in the fourth quarter but was badly overthrown in the endzone.

Week 16 brings on the New Orleans Saints who rank sixth in aFPA to WRs this season. Jefferson has shown to be impervious to tough matchups and even so, Marshon Lattimore should be preoccupied with Adam Thielen, potentially increasing the targets Jefferson will receive in this one. His historic rookie season has had his fantasy managers in amazement all year and he can be counted on as a high-end WR2 in the fantasy championship game.

MIN WR Justin Jefferson - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs Chicago

Jefferson had a down game last week against the Buccaneers as he caught 4-of-8 targets for 39 yards. Jefferson couldn’t get anything going in this one as the Vikings were only able to find success through the ground against a tough Bucs defense. Kirk Cousins was sacked a season-high six times and didn’t have anywhere near enough time to throw to his top WRs.

Jefferson takes on the Chicago Bears this week, who rank 4th in aFPA to WRs this season. Even with a tough matchup, Jefferson was the Vikings’ leading receiver in Week 10 against the Bears as he caught 8-of-10 targets for 135 yards in an exhilarating Monday Night Football performance. Expect the rookie to continue his impressive campaign and retain his upside WR2 status this week.

MIN WR Justin Jefferson - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at Tampa Bay

Justin Jefferson is one of the elite WRs in the NFL, period.

The rookie continues to impress and improve with each passing week and his last game against the Jacksonville Jaguars was no exception as he finished the game catching 9-of-12 targets for 121 yards and one touchdown. This game put Jefferson over the 1,000-yard mark and became only the fifth rookie WR in NFL history to achieve this feat joining the likes of Randy Moss, Anquan Boldin, Marques Colston and Odell Beckham Jr. Jefferson’s 1,039 receiving yards are fourth in the NFL and he has a legitimate shot at leading the league in the category by the season’s end.

Jefferson will be taking on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 14 who are ranked 31st in aFPA to WRs this season. A secondary that has been torched in recent weeks by the likes of Tyreek Hill, Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp, Jefferson is primed to follow suit and have another monster game in the first week of the fantasy playoffs. Count on Jefferson to continue his historic rookie campaign in this one and produce solid WR1 numbers.

MIN WR Justin Jefferson - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs Jacksonville

Jefferson took full advantage of Adam Thielen’s absence last week against Carolina, as he saw 13 targets which he turned into seven receptions for 70 yards and two touchdowns. The 13 targets were the most the rookie has ever seen as he closes in on 1,000 receiving yards on the season. Jefferson has been nothing short of spectacular as a rookie and it seems he is getting better with every game.

Week 13 will see Jefferson take on the Jacksonville Jaguars and he'll most likely square off against fellow rookie CJ Henderson. Henderson has been a part of one of the worst secondaries in football as the Jaguars are ranked 22nd in aFPA to WRs this season. Even with Thielen due back this week, Jefferson will still make the most of his opportunities and should be trusted as a low-end WR1.

MIN WR Justin Jefferson - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs Carolina

Jefferson continued his astonishing rookie season last week against Dallas as he turned his five targets into three receptions for 86 yards and one touchdown. Even in catching the three receptions, Jefferson looked great all game and scorched CB Anthony Brown for the wide-open 39-yard score.

In a regular setting this week, Jefferson would be a middling WR2 as his matchup against Carolina is a tough one with the Panthers ranking third in aFPA to WRs this season. However, with Adam Thielen set to miss this game due to being place on the reserved/COVID-19 list, Jefferson is in full-blown WR1 territory. This matchup will not be easy for Jefferson, but the rookie has shown incredible ability and production all season, and with a wealth of targets set to come his way, his fantasy managers might be in for a treat.

MIN WR Justin Jefferson - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs Dallas

In a draft class of stud WRs, Justin Jefferson has definitively separated himself as the best one. Even in a tough matchup last week against the Chicago Bears, Jefferson caught eight balls for 135 yards on 10 targets. Jefferson has been truly remarkable all season as he emerged as one of the best young receivers in football despite being on a team with low pass-to-run ratio that already had a target hog alpha WR.

Week 11 against Dallas should be a great game for Jefferson as the Cowboys are ranked 30th in aFPA to WRs this season and have just lost fellow rookie Trevon Diggs for multiple weeks due to injury. The Vikings should feature plenty of Dalvin Cook in this one, but Jefferson will find himself wide open mores than not in this one. View the sensational rookie as a strong WR2 in this one.
