HOU K Ka'imi Fairbairn - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs Jets

Two straight games going 3/3 on field goals. Not bad on what had been a sluggish offense. Fairbairn checks in as our No. 20 kicker in a game where the Texans should be able to move the ball a bit on offense.

HOU K Ka'imi Fairbairn - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs Jaguars

Houston's offense has the looks of being completely inept in 2021, no disrespect to Tyrod Taylor. Fairbairn also missed three extra points and four field goals in 2020. He still finished as a top-12 fantasy kicker in 2020, but he also had DeShaun Watson as his quarterback. That's not happening for the foreseeable future. It's probably best to look elsewhere for a kicker.

HOU K Ka'imi Fairbairn - 2019 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
Ka'imi Fairbairn stands alone atop the Texans single season scoring list. With a second quarter 30-yard field goal at Philadelphia late last season, he moved past Shayne Graham's 2012 mark of 138 points in a season. Fairbairn finished the season making a career and season-high 37 of his 42 field goals attempted and a career-high 88.1 percent of his kicks. He also made a career-high in his extra points, he was accurate in making 39 out of the 41 attempts in the regular season. Fairbairn made all 13 of his field goal attempts in the month of December and he made 12 of his 13 extra point attempts. He led the league in total points scored with 150 and led the NFL with 37 field goals made in the regular season.

Fantasy Downside
Lack of overall experience could be a concern.

2019 Bottom Line
While he isn't the proven commodity others are, it's hard to ignore what Fairbairn accomplished last year. Even harder to ignore is the fact he plays alongside one of the NFL's most dangerous offenses.
