Scouting report

PHI QB Kenny Pickett - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs Dallas Cowboys

It doesn’t look like Jalen Hurts will be able to take the field for the Eagles on Sunday. This means Kenny Pickett will likely make his first start for the team. Pickett is not the same threat to run the ball as Hurts, and it’s probably fair to say he’s not on the same level as a passer either. Pickett is likely to be at the helm of an offense that leans heavily on Saquon Barkley, meaning his chances of taking advantage of a Cowboys defense that ranks 30th in aFPA to quarterbacks will be limited. Pickett carries low-end QB2 value this week.

PIT QB Kenny Pickett - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Arizona Cardinals
It was the best Kenny Pickett has looked all season as he completed over 70% of his passes for the first time this year. He also threw for 278 yards and although he didn't throw a touchdown pass, he also didn't throw an interception. Looks like the change in offensive coordinator helped at least for one week.

Pickett faces the Cardinals who are ranked 23rd in aFPA to quarterbacks. Even with the favorable matchup at home and the improvement last week, it is still wait and see for Pickett whose numbers since becoming the starting QB have been below average. Keep him on the bench for Week 13.

PIT QB Kenny Pickett - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Green Bay Packers
Kenny Pickett's numbers continue to be some of the worst in the league. He only threw for 160 yards, but he did throw a touchdown pass and didn't turn the ball over which means he was a good game manager.

Pickett faces the Packers who are ranked seventh in aFPA to quarterbacks. With a tough matchup and a struggling offense, he should remain on the bench or waiver wire for Week 10.

PIT QB Kenny Pickett - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Tennessee Titans
Kenny Pickett left last week's game early with a rib injury and didn't return. However, it might have been a good thing as he was playing pretty bad at that point. The Steelers expect him to be ready for Thursday night so he should be the starter.

No reason to play Pickett at this point. His fantasy stats have been awful and even though he is a starter in the NFL, he shouldn't be on a fantasy roster in 2023 unless he vastly improves.

PIT QB Kenny Pickett - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Kenny Pickett threw for 230 yards in a victory in LA last Sunday. He didn't throw a TD pass but threw zero interceptions as well. He did rush for a touchdown. Pickett hasn't done much from a fantasy standpoint this season and really is only on most rosters as depth. He faces the Jaguars who are ranked 17th in aFPA to quarterbacks.

Keep Pickett on the bench again. The lack of touchdown passes will keep him there until that changes.

PIT QB Kenny Pickett - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Los Angeles Rams
The Steelers are coming off the bye week and we haven't seen much progress from Kenny Pickett. He has completed almost 60% of his passes while throwing five touchdown passes and four interceptions. It seems the Pittsburgh offense can't figure it out and it's hard to say if it's the second year quarterback or the offensive scheme.

Pickett will face the Rams who are ranked 21st in aFPA to quarterbacks. He should get Diontae Johnson back from injury, which will help.

Keep Pickett on the bench as a QB2 for Week7. He hasn't really shown anything to warrant fantasy value and it's questionable whether he should even be on a roster.

PIT QB Kenny Pickett - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Houston Texans
Kenny Pickett's fantasy numbers have looked the same the first three weeks of the season, but last Sunday night, he finally threw the first multiple touchdown game of his career and avoided turnovers. The Steelers offense was better and that might be a good sign for the future.

Pickett faces the Texans who are ranked 15th in aFPA to quarterbacks. Although, he has made progress, there are still some doubts about Pickett being able to raise his fantasy stock because of the average numbers.

Keep Pickett on the bench as a low-end QB2 for Week 4. Until we see some big games, that ranking will remain consistent moving forward.
