Texans WR Kenny Stills leaves after hamstring injury

On the last play of the first quarter, following a third-and-1 at the Houston 48-yard line, receiver Kenny Stills caught a 14-yard pass. Even though he could have made it even more of a chunk play, Stills pulled up and ducked out of bounds on the Panthers’ sideline holding his hamstring.

Fantasy Impact: 

Stills never returned to the game so his status will need to be monitored heading into Week 5. For a while, Stills was leading the team with two catches for 24 despite leaving in the first quarter, as the Houston offense struggled.

Texans expect WR Kenny Stills' role to grow

The Texans plan to expand Kenny Stills' role going forward as he learns more of the playbook.

"Stills just got here, so we just used him in certain packages, didn't try to overload him – although he can handle it," O'Brien said. "I mean, he's a really smart guy. But no, there'll be more to come relative to all of those guys.”

Fantasy Impact: 

Stills caught the 37-yard TD pass that put the Texans up against the Saints late in the game before the Saints eventually won. O'Brien pointed out he thinks there is a lot of carry-over and similar terminology from Miami. He'll be battling with Coutee and Fuller for targets in the Texans offense.

Texans WR Keke Coutee (ankle) took limited practice reps Thursday. Coutee is trending the right direction, but with Kenny Stills in tow, the Texans don't have to rush Coutee back.

Texans acquire Kenny Stills and Laremy Tunsil from Dolphins

The Texans have acquired WR Kenny Stills and OT Laremy Tunsil from the Dolphins for two first-round picks and a second-round pick, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Fantasy Impact: 

Another huge trade today involving the Texans. Houston now has a deep threat and insurance for the injuries to Will Fuller and Keke Coutee. They also can finally feel comfortable at the left tackle spot by having Tunsil. No one is more relieved right now than DeShaun Watson. Now, hopefully, he doesn’t get absolutely wrecked like he did last season, which would only help his already high fantasy stock.

In a matter of hours, the Texans have turned Jadeveon Clowney, Martinas Rankin, two No. 1s and a No. 2 into Stills, Tunsil, Carlos Hyde, Barkevious Mingo, Jacob Martin and a No. 3. An interesting return, to say the least. But at least the offense is in much better shape than it was 24 hours ago.
