Scouting report

BUF WR Khalil Shakir - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Tennessee Titans
The addition of Amari Cooper will undoubtedly take a bite out of every other receiver's target share, but with the team unsure exactly how much he is going to play in his first week with the team, Khalil Shakir has a great chance to lead the way one last time. It's not a great matchup, but Shakir can be considered a WR4/desperation Flex in Week 7.

BUF WR Khalil Shakir - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 @ Baltimore Ravens
Khalil Shakir operated almost exclusively out of the slot in Week 1, delivering a disappointing 3.7 aDOT but earned 31 yards after the catch. This includes a screen play that he took 11 yards to the house. He followed that up with a more reasonable 5-54-0 line in Week 2 but continued his ascension with a 6-71-1 line in Week 3. He has established himself as the most reliable wide receiver for the Bills, and he should be considered a WR3 moving forward.

BUF WR Khalil Shakir - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Khalil Shakir operated almost exclusively out of the slot in Week 1, delivering a disappointing 3.7 aDOT but earned 31 yards after the catch. This includes a screen play that he took 11 yards to the house. He followed that up with a more reasonable 5-54-0 line in Week 2. His touchdowns aren't likely to be consistent throughout the year, but he's an interesting deep WR4/Flex play in what could end up being a high-scoring game.

Week 2 @ Miami Dolphins
Khalil Shakir operated almost exclusively out of the slot in Week 1, delivering a disappointing 3.7 aDOT but earned 31 yards after the catch. This includes a screen play that he took 11 yards to the house. His touchdowns aren't likely to be consistent throughout the year but he's an interesting deep WR4/Flex play in what could end up being a high-scoring game.

BUF WR Khalil Shakir - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Philadelphia Eagles
Khalil Shakir had only three catches but they went for 115 yards and a touchdown. He has actually outplayed No. 2 receiver Gabe Davis since early October although Shakir's numbers have been average. We aren't ready to promote him ahead of Davis just yet, but his fantasy stock has risen in recent weeks. Just not enough to warrant a start in Week 12.

BUF WR Khalil Shakir - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Denver Broncos
Khalil Shakir has come on the last three weeks and actually has outperformed No. 2 Bills receiver Gabe Davis. In that stretch, he has 14 receptions for 184 yards. His playing time has gone up the last two weeks to 65% and 71% of Buffalo's offensive plays.

It's a favorable matchup for Shakir this Sunday against Denver, but we want to see him continue to get the playing time and fantasy numbers before we insert him the lineup. If he is on waivers, he would be a good pickup at this time.

BUF WR Khalil Shakir - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
With Isaiah McKenzie and Jamison Crowder injured, Khalil Shakir moves up the depth chart. The rookie only has two receptions this season, but the playing time targets are going to be there for someone in that third wide receiver role.

With a favorable matchup against Pittsburgh, his stock rises even more but not enough to insert him into your lineup at this time.
