Scouting report

ATL QB Kirk Cousins - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 @ Denver Broncos
We've seen Kirk Cousins pop up for some very good games against some of the worst secondaries in the league, but he becomes pretty much unplayable in tougher matchups, needing to rely heavily on multiple touchdown passes to rise out of the doldrums of QB2 land. We should expect a Pumpkin Kirk game against a difficult Broncos defense, which pushes him down to a low-end QB2 in Week 11.

ATL QB Kirk Cousins - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 @ New Orleans Saints
Kirk Cousins once again beat up on the Tampa Bay secondary in Week 8, hitting 4 touchdowns for the second time on the season, and he followed that up with three more touchdowns against an equally soft Cowboys defense. The Saints actually offer the first defense ranking in the top-20 in QB aFPA since Week 4 (also the Saints); which coincides with the only game he's failed to throw a touchdown in. Drake London being questionable adds one more wrinkle to Cousins' fantasy projection, so consider him more of a fringe QB1/2 than what we've seen from him of late.

ATL QB Kirk Cousins - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Dallas Cowboys
Kirk Cousins once again beat up on the Tampa Bay secondary last week, hitting 4 touchdowns for the second time on the season, and this matchup against the Cowboys isn't too much harder. Look for him to take advantage of another great matchup at home, in the dome, as a top-10 Week 9 option.

ATL QB Kirk Cousins - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
In a great matchup that ended up in a 36-30 OT win, Kirk Cousins was tasked with airing the ball out and he produced one of his twice-yearly blow up games with 500+ yards and four touchdowns. We had been waiting for him to unleash his deep ball, and he did so, completing three of his five attempts 20+ yards down the field for 75 yards and one of those touchdowns.

Things have fallen back down to earth in the last couple of weeks, as he has turned two touchdowns and two interceptions into 19.7 total fantasy points, barely QB2 numbers. Cousins has a chance to replicate that explosive performance against this Buccaneers defense, so consider him a strong start in Superflex leagues.

ATL QB Kirk Cousins - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Seattle Seahawks

Things weren't quite as good in Week 6, but with the Falcons doing whatever they wanted against the Panthers, Cousins dropped back only 30 times, his least amount since Week 1. They should have to keep their foot on the gas against the Seahawks, so consider him an easy top-15 option for Week 7.

ATL QB Kirk Cousins - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 @ Carolina Panthers
In a great matchup that ended up in a 36-30 OT win, Kirk Cousins was tasked with airing the ball out and he produced one of his twice-yearly blow up games with 500+ yards and four touchdowns. We had been waiting for him to unleash his deep ball, and he did so, completing three of his five attempts 20+ yards down the field for 75 yards and one of those touchdowns.

This week, Cousins gets a Panthers defense that has allowed the third-most schedule-adjusted fantasy points to the position, which puts him in top-15 consideration again.

ATL QB Kirk Cousins - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Kirk Cousins sits somewhere in "Streaming QB" purgatory in typical redraft leagues, but remains a good target in 2QB/Superflex formats. Drake London, Kyle Pitts, and Bijan Robinson have the talent to elevate their quarterback's numbers, and a new OC in Atlanta will do wonders for the team's pass-rush ratio. Cousins has the ceiling for three-touchdown games, but maybe not until he can unleash his deep ball while he continues to recover from his Achilles injury.
