ARI QB Kyler Murray - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Houston Texans

Kyler Murray decimated a tough Browns defense last week with four touchdown passes in a lopsided victory. He had only six rushing yards and 229 passing yards, but the touchdowns more than made up for his limited yardage. It’s a little concerning that Murray has been limited to single-digit rushing yards two weeks in a row. Still, he remains a dual-threat option and his 17 total touchdowns this season mitigate most of those “concerns.”

This week, Murray has a great matchup against a Texans defense that ranks 24th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks. Expect the Cardinals to deliver another thrashing this week, and for Murray to provide multiple touchdowns again. We have him ranked as an elite option once again, and he’s a must-start each week.

ARI QB Kyler Murray - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Cleveland Browns

Kyler Murray had a quiet game against the 49ers last week, with just one rushing yard on seven attempts to go with his 239 yards and a touchdown passing. Murray has been one of the most dynamic players in the league so far this season and has already accounted for 10 passing and three rushing touchdowns. Expect the Cardinals to get back to scoring 30-plus points after a tough, 17-10 victory against San Francisco.

This week, Murray faces a Browns defense that ranks 29th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks, and just gave up all the fantasy points to Justin Herbert last week. Murray is a must-start every week regardless of matchup, but he’s especially enticing after Herbert’s explosion in Week 5. Start him as a top-five, elite fantasy option.

ARI QB Kyler Murray - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. San Francisco 49ers

Kyler Murray is having a really great season when you consider 268 yards, two touchdowns, and 39 yards rushing to be a “down game.” He’s the current front-runner for MVP with the Cardinals as the last remaining unbeaten team in the league, and he’s accounted for 12 touchdowns – nine passing, three rushing – through just four games. Murray’s ability to add to his passing totals with rushing production gives him a high floor every week, to go with QB1 upside.

This week, Murray has a surprisingly soft matchup against a 49ers defense that ranks 23rd in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks. Murray is so good at making plays with his legs and finding the end zone, he’s a must-start regardless of matchup. We have him as a top-five option against the 49ers.

ARI QB Kyler Murray - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Los Angeles Rams

Kyler Murray struggled throwing the ball with no touchdowns and a pick against the Jaguars last week, but he still managed 316 yards, and he added 19 yards and a touchdown on the ground, salvaging the outing. Arizona almost squandered this game before pulling away at the end, but Murray continues to provide a high floor and extremely high upside due to his effectiveness on the ground. He has three touchdowns rushing in as many games this season.

This week, Murray faces a Rams defense that ranks 24th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks. Expect a shootout between these two high-flying offenses, and elite fantasy numbers once again from the playmaking Murray. Start him.

ARI QB Kyler Murray - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Jacksonville Jaguars

The Cardinals once again hung 30-plus points on an opponent, and largely due to an outburst of production from Kyler Murray. Murray has Arizona sitting at 2-0, and has already accounted for an eye-popping nine touchdowns – seven passing, two rushing – in just two games. Murray is basically the team’s goal-line back, and can also sling it with the best of them. He’s thrown for 689 yards and completed 73.5% of his passes so far. The only knock on him is his three interceptions, but he’s otherwise been nothing short of phenomenal.

This week, Murray should continue to dominant against a Jaguars team that looks lost in Urban Meyer’s first season at the helm. The Jaguars allowed QB1 numbers to Tyrod Taylor in Week 1, and then again to Teddy Bridgewater last week. Murray should have no trouble finding the end zone again this week and should be considered a must-start every game as long as he’s healthy. He’ll be in contention for the QB1 of the week again this week.

ARI QB Kyler Murray - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. Minnesota Vikings

Kyler Murray started his MVP campaign with a flourish in a 38-13 dismantling of the Tennessee Titans in Week 1. Murray had 289 yards, four touchdowns and a pick throwing the ball, and added 20 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Murray looks like he’s poised for a phenomenal season and should be a “set-it-and-forget-it” quarterback all year.

Murray doesn’t have a great matchup on paper against a Vikings defense that ranked 10th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks last season. However, Minnesota has struggled in the secondary, and gave up a couple of touchdown passes to Joe Burrow last week. Regardless of matchup, you’re starting Murray anyway, as his potential on the ground, and pass-happy system give him a high floor and a high ceiling every game. Start him as an elite option in Week 2.

ARI QB Kyler Murray - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 at Tennessee Titans

Already exciting as a rookie in 2019, Kyler Murray took a big step forward in 2020, throwing for 3,971 yards and 26 touchdowns, while adding 819 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground. He now has rookie Rondale Moore on the roster and the addition of A.J. Green should help mitigate the loss of Larry Fitzgerald. Murray has QB1 potential each and every week.

The Titans really struggled defensively last season and ranked 30th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks. This should lead to tremendous production from Murray, and fantasy managers should expect top-five numbers out of the gate from the third-year playmaker. Start him.
