Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire (illness, questionable) missed practice again Friday and is questionable for Week 13. CEH has a stomach virus but is expected to play per HC Andy Reid. If he can't play, Le'Veon Bell would vault up the rankings into high-end RB2 territory.

Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy told reporters Friday that “More than anything, Clyde is our starter, Le’Veon is going to play, and you just allow the process to take care of itself. And the thing that you want to do is make sure you’re keeping the opposing team off-balance."

Fantasy Impact: 

Bieniemy is one of the best offensive minds in the game and has no issue saying that the best player for the situation will get the snaps/touches. CEH's upside will continue to be hampered by Bell's presence.

The Kansas City Chiefs provided a peek into what their world will look like with Clyde Edwards-Helaire or Le'Veon Bell as the featured running back on Sunday. Edwards-Helaire played more (27 snaps to 17 for Bell) and got the ball more (nine touches to six for Bell).

But the way the Chiefs divided the backfield work in their 43-16 win over the Denver Broncos might not be the way they do it this Sunday against the New York Jets at Arrowhead Stadium (1 p.m. ET, CBS) or beyond. Bell just walked in their door last week after signing as a free agent. The Chiefs had 51 snaps against the Broncos in an unusual game.

Fantasy Impact: 

While the news seemed better for CEH owners when the signing first happened (saying CEH would still be the starter), this story paints a picture of a specific game plan for the backs depending on the week and the opponent - which fantasy owners likely won't know ahead of time. The Chiefs also said both backs could be on the field at the same time, which happened for one snap this past week.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid told reporters Friday that Le'Veon Bell could play Sunday against the Denver Broncos. “I’m going to try to visit with him here — I was waiting until after this practice, just to see where we were at with him [and] where his comfort level was with what we’re doing,” said Reid. “But it looks like he’s picking things up well, so I think there’s a chance he could get a couple of snaps in there.”

Fantasy Impact: 

Bell appears to be picking up the Chiefs offense fairly quickly and could play a similar role as Darrel Williams has through six games. This could be the last week that CEH has RB1 value, or it could be that Bell simply replaces Williams in the pecking order.
