WAS TE Logan Thomas - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at New England Patriots

Logan Thomas had a strong outing last week, finishing 6-44-1 on eight targets. Thomas, who has been playing since 2014, has been a surprise performer so far in 2023. The 32-year-old is currently TE8 in half-PPR when you account for per-game average. He's finished with at least 40 yards in five of the six games he's started and finished. This week he gets an OK matchup vs. the Patriots (20th aFPA). He should be viewed as a top-10 option at TE in Week 9.

WAS TE Logan Thomas - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Logan Thomas had a decent outing last week, finishing 4-51 on six targets. Thomas hasn't been the most dominant tight end, but he's seeing steady production most weeks which has made him TE13 in half-PPR despite missing a game. This week Thomas faces an Eagles team he faced earlier in the year. In Week 4, Thomas 3-41-0 vs. Philly. We're projecting a similar stat line for Thomas this week, which would make him a low-end TE1 for Week 8.

WAS TE Logan Thomas - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at New York Giants

Logan Thomas produced a dud last week as he logged just one reception for two yards with one target. It's a little weird to see Thomas get just one look a week after seeing 11 targets, but it happens. Tight end is an overall wasteland, so we still like Thomas overall given his previous production this season. He should be viewed as a top 15 option at TE in Week 7 as he faces the Giants who are 18th in aFPA to TEs.

WAS TE Logan Thomas - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Atlanta Falcons

Logan Thomas led the Commanders in targets last week with 11, finishing with an impressive stat line of 9-77-1. Despite missing one game and leaving another game early due to injury, Thomas is TE9 in half-PPR this year. His production could continue this week as he faces a Falcons team that's 28th in aFPA to TEs. The Falcons have given up the 4th-most total receiving yards to tight ends this season, and have given up three touchdowns to the position which is tied for 3rd-most. Thomas should be viewed as a top 10 option at TE in Week 6.

WAS TE Logan Thomas - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs Chicago Bears

Logan Thomas returned from his concussion and finished 3-41 on three targets in Week 4. Thomas is TE15 this season in half-PPR, and that's despite him missing a full game and only playing around half of another game after leaving early due to injury. His numbers aren't overly impressive, but it doesn't take much for tight ends to be noteworthy in fantasy in 2023. He should be viewed as a top 20 option at TE in Week 5 as he faces a poor Bears defense. Chicago has given up the 7th-most receptions to tight ends this season.

WAS TE Logan Thomas - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Philadelphia Eagles

Logan Thomas missed Week 3 with a concussion, and he is questionable heading into Week 4. But in his absence, backup tight end Cole Turner saw a team-high seven targets. Through three games, tight ends on Washington have 29 total targets. If Thomas returns from injury in Week 4, he could see a decent amount of looks as Sam Howell appears to target his tight ends often. Still, Thomas is outside of the top 15 tight ends for Week 4 and would be a risky option, even if he's active.

WAS TE Logan Thomas - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs Buffalo Bills

Logan Thomas is off to an interesting start this season. In week 1, he saw eight targets, finishing 4-43. And in Week 2, Thomas finished 2-22-1 on three targets before exiting early with a concussion. In his absence, John Bates finished 3-46 on five targets. Thomas is questionable this week given his concussion, but Sam Howell's usage to his tight ends is worth monitoring. Even after exiting early in Week 2, Thomas is still TE6 on the season in half-PPR. He's up against a tough Bills defense in Week 3, though, if he ends up being active. We'd probably avoid Thomas due to the matchup, but he could be worth a speculative waiver add.
