Scouting report

WAS TE Logan Thomas - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Philadelphia Eagles

Logan Thomas led Washington's tight ends in targets last week with three, but he failed to haul in a catch and finished with a goose egg. That makes two straight games with 0 receptions for Thomas since returning to the lineup. Thomas has shown promise in the past, and he's getting solid playing time (72% of the offensive snaps last week), but it's hard to trust a player who isn't catching the ball. We'd probably avoid him in Week 10.

WAS TE Logan Thomas - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Minnesota Vikings

Logan Thomas returned to action last week, although we wouldn't blame you if you didn't notice. Despite playing 56% of the offensive snaps, Thomas didn't see a single target all game. Backup tight end Armani Rogers saw two targets while John Bates saw one. Thomas had a breakout season in 2020, and looked good in 2021 before suffering a season-ending injury. This season, Thomas has once again been plagued with injuries, and even though he returned, he may not be 100%. Thomas does draw a favorable matchup this week, but he's a risky option considering he had 0 targets just a week ago. He's a risky TE2 play in Week 9.

WAS TE Logan Thomas - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Tennessee Titans

Logan Thomas had an interesting stat line last week as he saw six targets, finishing with five receptions for 19 yards. You'd expect a tight end with five receptions to have more than just 19 yards, but that's now back-to-back games where Thomas has done nothing but catch very short passes. Thomas has been decent so far this season as he's TE16 in half-PPR scoring. He's in a big mass of tight ends who are involved in the offense, but don't put up a ton of production. In Week 5 he'll get a favorable matchup against the Titans where he'll continue to be in that TE15 range.

WAS TE Logan Thomas - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Dallas Cowboys

After a pair of solid games, Logan Thomas came back with a dud in Week 3, finishing 2-5 on three targets. The tight end position is pretty shallow this season when it comes to production, so it's hard to write off Thomas completely. But Washington seems to want to get its wide receivers involved more than Thomas. Thomas might score a touchdown here and there, but it's really unpredictable. We'd bet against it this week though, as the Cowboys have given up just 76 yards and no scores to tight ends through three games this season. We'd look elsewhere at tight end in Week 4.

WAS TE Logan Thomas - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Logan Thomas has somehow managed to carve out a role in this offense, even though Terry McLaurin, Curtis Samuel and Jahan Dotson have all been very productive. Thomas finished 3-37-1 in Week 2 on five targets. It was a similar performance as Week 1, although he wasn't able to find the endzone in Week 1. Thomas seems to be recovered from his ACL tear late last year as he played on 73% of the offensive snaps last week. He's worked his way into low-end TE1 territory for the remainder of the season. He gets a good matchup this week against the Eagles. Thomas is around TE15 range for Week 3.

WAS TE Logan Thomas - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at Detroit Lions

Logan Thomas was active for Week 1 and had a decent game, finishing 3-45 on six targets. He played on 62% of the offensive snaps as he recovers from a torn ACL last season. Thomas won't be putting up Travis Kelce numbers, but he should be a decent streaming option throughout the season. He gets a favorable matchup in Week 2 against the Lions where he should be viewed as a top-20 tight end.

WAS TE Logan Thomas - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Logan Thomas had a mini-breakout season in 2020 with 72 receptions, but injuries kept him from progressing in 2021. Now he's a 31-year-old converted quarterback coming off a torn ACL. He's still recovering from that ACL injury as he's been limited in practice this week. But even if he is active, there are a lot of better tight end options out there. Thomas is outside of the top 25 tight ends for the week.
