Scouting report

DAL WR Michael Gallup - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Philadelphia Eagles

It hasn’t been a stellar season for Michael Gallup, even his staunchest supporters would agree. He has just 20 receptions for 224 scoreless yards in 2023. He’s been held to 25 receiving yards or less in five games. The lack of production has seen him average less than five fantasy points per game in Half-PPR formats.

His matchup in Week 9 does make him somewhat interesting from a fantasy point of view. The Eagles rank 31st in aFPA to wide receivers in 2023, so perhaps Gallup could be worth a start as a WR4 or flex option.

DAL WR Michael Gallup - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Tennessee Titans
Michael Gallup finally put together a decent week, albeit most likely on your bench. Salvaging his day with a score, Gallup caught four passes for just 36 yards. If it weren't for the touchdown it would have been another bust week.

With so much on the line in fantasy land this week, Gallup is staying on my bench. I don't want to bank on a touchdown just for him to have an average day. Look elsewhere for players who have been producing more consistently.

DAL WR Michael Gallup - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. Philadelphia Eagles
The bust weeks keep on coming for Michael Gallup. Recording just one catch for two yards, that is someone you cannot trust going forward.

Given his lack of production, coupled with Philadelphia's stout defense, do yourself a favor and leave Gallup on your bench. I am willing to play just about anyone else with a higher ceiling or better matchup than him.

DAL WR Michael Gallup - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Jacksonville Jaguars
After a boom week a couple weeks back, it was another dud for Michael Gallup against Houston. Recording just two catches for 40 yards, the volume just isn't there.

While he does have a much better matchup against Jacksonville, I am still hesitant to put him in the starting lineup. A touchdown would be needed for him to pay off. While it is certainly possible, it is hard to count on. I am leaving him on the bench for someone with a higher floor.

DAL WR Michael Gallup - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Houston Texans
Michael Gallup's underwhelming 23 yards on four receptions was saved by him finding the end zone twice. Without those scores, fantasy managers would have been disappointed.

It is tough for me to bank on scoring touchdowns, therefore, I will keep Gallup on my bench. Unless you are trying to navigate through bye weeks and injuries, Gallup just isn't getting the consistent yardage and receptions for me to feel good about starting him. Especially this week going up against Houston that allowed just 88 receiving yards last week between Cleveland's top two receivers.

DAL WR Michael Gallup - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Indianapolis Colts
A decent showing from Michael Gallup last week. Logging five catches for 63 yards, he was the second favorite target on the day for Prescott.

There are still inconsistencies with his weekly performances and there are other players who possess higher ceilings, so unless I am in a pinch, I will leave Gallup on the bench. He is a WR3/WR4 for me this week.

DAL WR Michael Gallup - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. New York Giants
Failing to score a touchdown, it was another disappointing week for Michael Gallup. Putting up just three catches for 41 yards, he was the fourth option in the Dallas passing attack.

I am leaving Gallup on my bench this week. He hasn't shown us anything lately that gives me confidence in starting him. For him to payoff, a touchdown is needed. That is hard to bank on. Look for other options if possible. If not, expect WR3 or WR4 production.
