IND WR Michael Pittman Jr. - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at Green Bay Packers

Michael Pittman saw the most targets from Anthony Richardson in Week 1 with eight. He caught four of them for 31 yards. Pittman remains steady in the offense. But don't be surprised if he sees plenty of Packers CB Jaire Alexander this week, though Alexander did give up a 67-yard touchdown to Eagles WR A.J. Brown in Week 1. Pittman remains a solid flex option for the week.

IND WR Michael Pittman Jr. - 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside

Michael Pittman's numbers have held steady, if not increased throughout his NFL career. His lines have gone from 88-1082-6 to 99-925-4 to 109-1152-4 over the last three seasons. He was fifth in the league in catches and ninth in targets (156). Indy's offense should continue to provide plenty of upside and Pittman will be among the leaders as the WR1. It'll also help to have Anthony Richardson back running the offense.

Fantasy Downside

Anthony Richardson will run the ball more and Jonathan Taylor is healthy and once again the lead back. The Colts will keep the ball on the ground between those two. Richardson also has Josh Downs and Adonai Mitchell to throw to, which likely caps Pittman as a WR2 in fantasy instead of a true WR1.

2024 Bottom Line

Pittman is going to still command targets and will haul a lot of them in. Pittman had 10 games last season with at least eight catches and nine games with at least 75 receiving yards. He'll be as steady as they come, making him one of the better WR2 options in fantasy.

IND WR Michael Pittman Jr. - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Las Vegas Raiders

Michael Pittman Jr. missed last week with a concussion, though he was a late-scratch, so there’s optimism for his status this week against the Raiders. If active, Pittman is a must-start in all leagues due to his heavy target share and consistent production throughout the season.

Make sure to have a backup option ready, but assuming he starts, he should definitely be active against a Raiders defense that ranks 19th in aFPA to opposing wide receivers. While the Raiders have been surging lately, Pittman is leaned on heavily in this passing attack, making him a must-start as long as he’s healthy.

IND WR Michael Pittman Jr. - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Atlanta Falcons

Michael Pittman Jr. caught four balls for 78 yards before getting knocked out of the game with a concussion. He’ll be in the protocol and is very questionable for Week 16 against the Falcons. If active, Pittman is a must-start in all leagues due to his heavy target share and consistent production throughout the season. Make sure to have a backup option ready, however, as he seems unlikely to go.

IND WR Michael Pittman Jr. - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

Michael Pittman Jr. caught eight balls for 95 yards last week in a loss to the Bengals. He was targeted 11 times, his fourth straight game with double-digit targets, and ninth game of the year. Pittman has a nice rapport with quarterback Gardner Minshew and he looks like one of the safest fantasy options week-to-week given the target volume, especially in PPR formats.

This week, Pittman faces a Pittsburgh defense that ranks fifth in aFPA to opposing wide receivers. Even with the tough matchup, he’s expected to once again lead the team in targets, giving him a high floor. He should be active in all fantasy leagues as a quality WR1 option, especially in PPR formats.

IND WR Michael Pittman Jr. - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at Cincinnati Bengals

Michael Pittman Jr. continued his run of good performances last week in an overtime victory over the Titans. He was targeted 16 times, catching 11 balls for 105 yards and his fourth touchdowns of the season. Pittman is racking up targets, with 127 on the year and double-digit targets in five of his last seven games.

This week, Pittman faces a Cincinnati defense that ranks 24th in aFPA to opposing wide receivers. With a nice matchup and the expectation of heavy targets once again, we have Pittman ranked as a quality WR1 option this week. Start him in all league formats.

IND WR Michael Pittman Jr. - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Tennessee Titans

Michael Pittman Jr. caught 10 balls last week for 107 yards in a victory over the Buccaneers. Every time I looked up it felt like Pittman was getting targeted, and he now has double-digit targets in seven games this year - as well as four of the last six. Pittman is on pace for 1,212 receiving yards this season, which would be a career-high, as the Colts are still battling for a potential playoff spot.

This week, Pittman faces a Tennessee defense that ranks 23rd in aFPA to opposing wide receivers. It’s a great matchup for a surging player, so fantasy managers should consider him a viable WR1 option in all league formats. Start him.
