IND WR Michael Pittman Jr. - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Michael Pittman Jr. caught his fifth touchdown in as many games last week against the Jets, catching five of six targets for 64 yards. Pittman is in the midst of a breakout season in his sophomore year, and with T.Y. Hilton out, he’s become the primary target for Carson Wentz in the passing game.

This week, Pittman faces a Jaguars defense that ranks 19th in aFPA to opposing wide receivers. With the way Pittman has been producing, the efficient play of Carson Wentz as of late, and a pretty good matchup, he’s a nice fantasy option in all leagues. We have him ranked just outside our top-five wide receivers this week. Start him.

IND WR Michael Pittman Jr. - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. New York Jets

Michael Pittman Jr. had a great game last week against the Titans. He caught 10 balls for 86 yards and two touchdowns, and was targeted 15 times! It was good to see the Colts in a rare shootout, and for Pittman to be the primary beneficiary of that game script. Expect him to continue to dominate targets, especially with T.Y. Hilton getting hurt again after a brief return last week.

This week, Pittman faces a Jets defense that ranks 14th in aFPA to opposing wide receivers. With the targets he’s getting and the red zone looks we saw him receive last week, he’s worth starting as a fringe WR1 in all league formats.

IND WR Michael Pittman Jr. - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Tennessee Titans

Michael Pittman Jr. had four catches for 105 yards and a touchdown last week in a victory over the 49ers. While you’d like to see his targets increase, it’s good to see him producing and making some big plays. Pittman now has touchdowns in two of his last three games and appears to be the primary weapon in the Colts’ passing attack, at least while T.Y. Hilton is shelved.

This week, Pittman faces a Titans defense that ranks 31st in aFPA to opposing wide receivers. There should be plenty of opportunities for him to produce against this struggling secondary, and with the big plays he’s been able to make this season, he has WR2 upside.

IND WR Michael Pittman Jr. - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at San Francisco 49ers

Michael Pittman Jr. struggled last week against the Texans with just two catches on three targets for 35 yards. Some of that may have been the return of T.Y. Hilton – albeit a brief return – but most of it was probably due to the Colts stomping the Texans and only attempting 20 passes all game.

This week, Pittman faces a 49ers defense that ranks 13th in aFPA to opposing wide receivers. He should get more looks with Hilton hobbled again and Parris Campbell out for the season, especially with the 49ers' offense likely returning Jimmy Garoppolo under center. That should create a little closer game and keep the Colts from living in a positive game script. We have Pittman ranked as a low-end WR2 this week.

IND WR Michael Pittman Jr. - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Houston Texans

Michael Pittman Jr. finally scored his first touchdown of the season – and just the second of his two-year career – against the Ravens on Monday night. He caught six of seven balls thrown his way for 89 yards and a touchdown. Pittman has at least seven targets in four straight games this year, providing hope that he’s putting it all together and can become a viable weekly fantasy option.

This week, Pittman has a tough matchup against a Texans defense that ranks eighth in aFPA to opposing wide receivers. Still, expect him to get his seven-plus targets and be an active part of the offense, giving him a decent floor in PPR formats. We have him ranked as a WR3 option this week, so start him if you’re in deeper leagues.

IND WR Michael Pittman Jr. - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Baltimore Ravens

Michael Pittman Jr. caught six of his team-high eight targets last week against the Dolphins, but only managed 59 yards. Pittman still struggles to find the end zone, and he’s not producing at a big enough clip to overcome the lack of touchdowns.

This week, Pittman faces a Ravens defense that ranks third in aFPA to opposing wide receivers. Not a good sign for someone already on the fringes of fantasy viability. Managers should leave him on the bench this week in all but the deepest of leagues.

IND WR Michael Pittman Jr. - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Miami Dolphins

Michael Pittman Jr. had six catches for 68 yards and was targeted 12 times last week against the Titans. His volume is encouraging for fantasy managers trying to mine this Indianapolis passing game for hidden treasures, but so far, the targets haven’t yielded a lot more production than they did last year for him. Still, 28 targets in three games make him worth rostering. He has a tough matchup against the Dolphins this week, who are terrible against the run but have been fairly effective against passing attacks so far this season. They rank sixth in aFPA to opposing wide receivers. We have him ranked right around deep-WR3 territory, which seems about right when you weigh out volume versus matchup.
