Scouting report

ARI WR Michael Wilson - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Los Angeles Chargers
Michael Wilson didn't take the backseat that we had expected upon the return of Trey McBride, and he continued his three-game streak of 6+ target games (5-78-0) in Week 5.
The wheels came off for the offense in Week 6 though, as McBride was the only player to crack 40 yards through the air. This is a bad matchup, and it looks like Marvin Harrison Jr. won't be around to keep the defense's attention. Wilson can easily be left on benches.

ARI WR Michael Wilson - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 @ Green Bay Packers
Michael Wilson didn't take the backseat that we had expected upon the return of Trey McBride, and he continued his three-game streak of 6+ target games (5-78-0). Whether or not that continues long-term is questionable, though. Wilson gets a good matchup against a Packers defense that ranks 26th in WR aFPA, but should be considered more in the WR4 range than his recent WR3 numbers might suggest.

ARI WR Michael Wilson - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Chicago Bears

Michael Wilson returned to action last week against the 49ers, but was held catchless on just three targets. While there’s potential for increased targets with Marquise Brown struggling with a heel injury, the Cardinals simply haven’t provided fantasy points at the wide receiver position with any kind of consistency this season. Fantasy managers should steer clear and the only Arizona pass-catcher worth starting is tight end Trey McBride.

ARI WR Michael Wilson - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Houston Texans

Michael Wilson caught three balls for 34 yards in Kyler Murray’s return to action last week against the Falcons. It might take some time for the rookie to build a rapport with Murray, so fantasy managers should be patient with him. It was good to see him earn six targets, but he’s too risky to put in fantasy lineups in most leagues.

Update: Hopefully, you weren't counting on Wilson anyway, but it looks like he's going to be inactive for Week 11, so be sure to get him out of lineups.

ARI WR Michael Wilson - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Atlanta Falcons

Michael Wilson was out last week, but seems like he’s going to be available against the Falcons in Week 10. Atlanta is a tough matchup, but with Kyler Murray also set to return, this offense could look very different. Take a cautious approach with Wilson, as we don’t know how healthy he is or how soon he’ll develop a nice rapport with Murray, but he’s worth rostering just in case he has a nice second half with the quarterback change.

ARI WR Michael Wilson - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Cleveland Browns

Michael Wilson has shown flashes during his rookie season, but the offense has been plagued by inconsistency, limiting Wilson’s production. He had 58 yards on four receptions last week in a blowout loss to the Ravens. In a tough matchup against the Browns and with a quarterback change, sit Wilson this week.

Update: Wilson is inactive this week. Hopefully, you weren't starting him anyway, but if you were, be sure to get him out of your lineup.

ARI WR Michael Wilson - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Seattle Seahawks

Michael Wilson caught three balls for 62 yards last week. He continues to show a tremendous amount of promise as an outside receiver in this offense, with significant upside to grow as the team gets better around him. He’s far from being a fantasy lock, but he keeps inching close to double-digit fantasy weeks and seems to have secured his position on the depth chart.

This week, Wilson has an excellent matchup against a Seattle defense that ranks 30th in aFPA to opposing wide receivers. He’s still a risk, as is most of the Arizona offense, but his upside and great matchup make him worth gambling on as a fantasy WR3 if you need some bye week help.
