Montario Hardesty

The loss of the two tailbacks (Montario Hardesty and Dion Lewis) elevates Browns RB Brandon Jackson into the backup role behind Trent Richardson.

"Brandon is a reliable guy,'' said coach Rob Chudzinski. "I have no issues with Brandon. Trent will be the guy that we're counting on in a lot of different ways. We have to do a good job of keeping him fresh throughout the course of the season. I’m looking forward to seeing Brandon in the (Bears) game.''

The Browns cut FB Owen Marecic became expendable when Chris Ogbonnaya showed he could block for Richardson this preseason as well as play tailback.

Ogbonnaya could play a Mike Tolbert-type role in Norv Turner's offense given the lack of talent behind Richardson.
