Fantasy Upside
Peyton Barber is the Bucs’ starting back to begin the season. He was the team’s leading rusher a year ago, despite not getting the most carries. Barber is a power back who is certainly capable of carrying the ball multiple times a game while gaining just enough yards to keep the chains moving.
Fantasy Downside
There’s not a lot of appeal to Barber outside of the fact that he’s starting. He’s a power back, but he hasn’t really been a touchdown machine. With all of the backs on Tampa’s roster, he likely won’t get enough carries to get enough yards to be relevant for fantasy purposes.
2018 Bottom Line
Barber might have a few fantasy games of relevance if he’s able to find the end zone, but outside of that, there’s not much to like here. We expect rookie Ronald Jones to be the starter, even if it takes a while to get there. In the meantime, Barber will just be a frustrating obstacle for fantasy owners. He’s not really worth a spot for fantasy purposes.
