Scouting report

WAS WR Pierre Garcon - Week 10, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs New Orleans
Pierre Garcon caught four balls for 70 yards on eight targets last week. This week, the Redskins take on the Saints, who are just 27th in allowing fantasy points to WRs. The Washington receiver situation is a bit fluid right now, as DeSean Jackson is back. He wasn't much of a factor last week, but we have him ranked higher than Garcon this week with the assumption he gets more involved, which could mean a bit of a drop in Garcon's production. It's a great matchup, but Garcon certainly comes with some risks and is only more of a WR4 option.

WAS WR Pierre Garcon - Week 9, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at New England
Pierre Garcon had five catches for 55 yards last week on six targets. Garcon falls down our list a bit with the return of DeSean Jackson this week. Garcon is ranked 36th among wide receivers, making him a lower-end WR3 option in what is a pretty favorable matchup against the Patriots. New England is 21st in allowing fantasy points to WRs and the thought here is Washington will have to play from behind in this contest. Still, Garcon hasn't shown much fantasy value this year in typical leagues and is a risk outside of deeper leagues.

WAS WR Pierre Garcon - Week 7, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs Tampa Bay
Pierre Garcon caught five balls for 28 yards last week and added his third TD of the season. He was targeted eight times and has 51 for the season, an average of just over eight a game. Kirk Cousins' struggles haven't helped the passing game, though, and the team also misses speedster DeSean Jackson, who suffered a setback with his hamstring. Garcon has a nice matchup this week against the Bucs, who are 28th in fantasy points allowed to WRs. Garcon is more of a higher-end WR3 play right now, even in a good matchup.

WAS WR Pierre Garcon - Week 6, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at New York Jets
Pierre Garcon continues to consistently get his targets, but isn't always catching the passes. Last week he was targeted eight times, but only caught three balls for 51 yards. This week, he has a very tough matchup on the road against the Jets, who are coming off a bye week. Garcon is ranked as more of a WR3 this week, as the Jets are sixth in allowing fantasy points to WRs. He could see a lot of time on Revis Island.

WAS WR Pierre Garcon - Week 5, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Atlanta
Pierre Garcon had a nice week in Week 4, catching seven passes for 55 yards and adding the game-winning TD catch late in the game on what was a pretty impressive snag. Garcon is putting together a pretty nice season and has stepped up in the wake of DeSean Jackson's injury. This week, Garcon gets the Falcons on the road in just an OK matchup as the Falcons are 13th in allowing fantasy points to WRs. Jackson has a chance to play this week, but even if he does, Garcon is at least a high-end WR3 fantasy option based on his catches and targets this year.

WAS WR Pierre Garcon - Week 4, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs Philadelphia

Last week Pierre Garcon was targeted 12 times, but caught just five balls for 64 yards. His targets continue to be at least somewhat encouraging, but the connection with Kirk Cousins just isn't there right now.

This week, the Skins host Philly who comes in ranked 26th in allowing fantasy points to WRs, so this is a potential great matchup for Garcon. Garcon has also performed well against the Eagles over the past couple of years, including an 11-138-1 game in Week 3 of last season with Cousins throwing the ball. He's ranked as a low-end WR2, but there's certainly some potential there to end up better than that.

WAS WR Pierre Garcon - Week 3, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs. New York Giants

Pierre Garcon had six more catches this week, but only turned them into 23 yards. However, he saved fantasy owners' days by scoring his first touchdown of the year. He was targeted seven times, which is another good sign.

This week, Garcon creeps up to a low-end WR2 play against the Giants on Thursday night. The G'men are 11th fantasy points allowed to WRs, so it's not a great matchup. On top of that, the Skins may again go with a run-heavy approach with Matt Jones and Alfred Morris. The good news is Garcon is collecting the targets again this year and should put up usable low-end WR2 to high-end WR3 fantasy numbers for owners. Keep in mind he hasn't posted great numbers against the Giants in recent years.
