No timetable for Dolphins WR Preston Williams (foot)

A foot sprain was diagnosed for Preston Williams and head coach Brian Flores said on Monday that there has not been a timeline set for his return at this point.

“We’ll evaluate it day to day,” Flores said, via Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. “He’s a tough kid. We’ll try to fight through things and see how that goes.”

Fantasy Impact: 

The story said a Cardinals defender grabbed Williams’ foot as he leaped into the end zone, but there was some thought that he was hurt during the celebration when defensive tackle Christian Wilkins jumped on him. It sounds like Williams could press through the injury. He caught four balls for 60 yards and a TD before the injury took him out of the game.

The right foot injury starting receiver Preston Williams suffered in the Miami Dolphins' 34-31 win over the Arizona Cardinals wasn’t as serious as it looked after the second-year player was carted off the field.

A day after the injury coach Brian Flores said Williams is considered to be day-to-day.

Fantasy Impact: 

While Flores acknowledged it’s too early to determine if Williams will be able to practice this week, or healthy enough to play in this Sunday’s home game against the Los Angeles Chargers, the injury doesn’t appear to be serious enough to end the receiver’s season, the story said. Parker caught six of the seven passes thrown his way, turning them into 64 receiving yards. Hollins, who caught an 11-yard touchdown on his first and only catch of the season, Grant and Perry handled the bulk of the receiver reps the rest of the game.

Dolphins WR Preston Williams suffered an apparent foot sprain after his initial diagnosis Sunday.

Fantasy Impact: 

Williams was carted off the field during the second quarter, apparently during his touchdown catch and perhaps even during the group celebration. Williams was leading the way for the Dolphins with four catches for 60 yards and a touchdown.

Tua Tagovailoa enjoys utilizing quick receivers with route-running ability. DeVante Parker and Preston Williams are clearly the team’s No. 1 and 2 wideouts, but Isaiah Ford might be one of the better route runners on the team.

Fantasy Impact: 

Ford relies on his speed and got off to a solid start this season, including a career-best seven-catch, 76 yard-performance against the Bills in Week 2. As the story also said, he has cooled off since and didn’t register a target against the Jets. Ford will be looking to bounce back against the Rams, who are tough defensively both up front and in the secondary. He's a name to keep an eye on and could potentially click with Tua this week.
