MIA WR Preston Williams - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Jacksonville Jaguars

Preston Williams seemingly took over DeVante Parker's role as Parker sat out last week. Parker hasn't been practicing this week, either, so there's a strong chance he sits out again. Williams finished 3-60 last week on five targets and even had a rushing attempt for seven yards. It's a very Parkeresque stat line with low reception and high yardage numbers. Williams himself has been limited with a groin injury this week, so that should be monitored. But even if he plays, Williams isn't a strong fantasy option. He's not much more than a WR5 in Week 6 vs. the Jaguars.

MIA WR Preston Williams - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Arizona Cardinals

Preston Williams saw a team-high five targets in Tua Tagovailoa's debut, but struggled to put up too much production in a slow day offensively for the Dolphins. In a game where the Dolphins finished with under 100 passing yards, Williams had 15 on two catches. Better days should be ahead, but Williams isn't much more than a WR4 this week against the Cardinals. We're projecting around 40-50 yards for Williams in Week 9.

MIA WR Preston Williams - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Los Angeles Rams

Preston Williams caught his third touchdown in his last four games last week, but that's about all he did. Williams finished with two total receptions for 18 yards. He's now had two receptions or less in all but one game this season. It'll be interesting to see how Williams adjusts with a new quarterback (Tua Tagovailoa) this week, but Williams is a hard player to trust considering his low volume. He's not much more than a WR4 in a tough matchup against the Rams (No. 3 aFPA).

MIA WR Preston Williams - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. New York Jets

Preston Williams had easily his best game of the season last week as he finished with more yards in that game (106) than his previous four games combined (89). It's also the first time he had more than two receptions in a game (he finished with four). His role didn't change much, he just happened to be more productive. It was a promising game, but it's not likely a sign of things to come. Williams should be viewed as a WR3 this week in a favorable matchup against the Jets (23rd in aFPA).

MIA WR Preston Williams - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at San Francisco 49ers

Preston Williams had another disappointing game last week, finishing with one reception for 15 yards (on three targets). His games so far in 2020 have resulted in two receptions, one reception, two receptions and one reception, respectively. He's also finished under 30 receiving yards in three straight games (he played/produced more in Week 1 due to DeVante Parker's injury). It's hard to trust Williams considering his low production. We have him projected in WR4 range for Week 5 against the 49ers (16th in aFPA to WRs).

MIA WR Preston Williams - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Seattle Seahawks

Preston Williams finished with a touchdown last week, but that's basically all he did. Williams caught his two targets and finished with just seven yards. It's been a disappointing season for Williams as he hasn't topped two receptions in any of his three games. He also played a season-low 57% of the offensive snaps in Week 3. We expect a bounce back game this week in a favorable matchup against the Seahawks, who have given up an average of 400 passing yards each game this season. Williams should be viewed as a WR3 or WR4 in Week 4.

MIA WR Preston Williams - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Jaguars

Preston Williams had a disappointing Week 2 effort, finishing with just one catch for 26 yards. The good news is he did see five targets and played a healthy 81% of the offensive snaps. The bad news is Mike Gesicki, Isaiah Ford, Myles Gaskin and DeVante Parker all saw more targets, and all had more production. If more players become involved in this offense, it'll be bad for Williams moving forward. We still like him as a solid WR4 option against Jacksonville in Week 3. We're projecting around 3-4 receptions for 50 yards.
