DAL WR Randall Cobb - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at New York Jets
In a game that saw QB Dak Prescott complete 27 passes for 463 yards, you would think all the wide receivers would be in on the fun. But Randall Cobb only had three receptions for 53 yards on the evening.

The return of WR Michael Gallup put Cobb back to his third wide receiver role and that will play into his fantasy status all season. Keep Cobb on the bench for Week 6 as the Cowboys will probably roll but Cobb is not high on the offensive options list.

DAL WR Randall Cobb - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs Green Bay
We thought maybe Randall Cobb would get some more attention the past two weeks with No. 2 receiver Michael Gallup out but it never really materialized. Gallup is back this week so Cobb should still be seeing similar numbers to his season averages - 5 targets and 4 catches per game.

It's a tough matchup against Green Bay who is second in aFPA to wide receivers. Cobb is a bench player at best and only depth on your roster at this point in the season.

DAL WR Randall Cobb - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at New Orleans
Randall Cobb has seven catches for 47 yards the last two games. The yardage totals won't be there much this year as he comes out of the slot and will be used as a possesion receiver. He is getting on the field 74% of the snaps so that's a positive but too many Dallas weapons ahead of him to expect the big numbers. Keep Cobb on the waiver wire at this time.

DAL WR Randall Cobb - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs Miami
With WR Michael Gallup out for several weeks, Randall Cobb's fantasy stock goes up. The veteran was the second most targeted Cowboy in Week 2 and is third overall for the season. He will resume his slot role and has a higher value in PPR leagues, but will put up some numbers while Gallup is out.

Cobb faces the Dolphins in Week 3 and that's a great matchup as Miami hasn't stopped anyone in the passing game. We expect Cobb to be on the field more and he should be on your roster for depth at this point, but not in the starting lineup as we see how the ball distribution works for Dallas in Gallup's absence.

DAL WR Randall Cobb - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at Washington
Veteran Randall Cobb had a good Dallas debut catching four passes for 69 yards and a touchdown. This is a good day for the No. 3 and slot receiver and if the Cowboys passing game continues to strive, Cobb will be better than we thought coming into the season.

Cobb is probably not ready to be on your roster just yet, but if those numbers become consistent, he could be good depth down the road, For now, there are too many other options for Dallas in the passing game.

DAL WR Randall Cobb - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs New York Giants
Randall Cobb has come to Dallas from Green Bay to play the slot, but don't expect too much from the veteran. There are too many other offensive weapons for the Cowboys and although Cobb will contribute, it will more likely be a couple catches here or there. Even against the Giants for Week 1 who were below average against the pass last season, Cobb is not worthy of a fantasy roster spot at this time.

DAL WR Randall Cobb - 2019 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
Randall Cobb was a staple in the Packers offense and put up some great numbers over his career. The Cowboys brought him aboard to replace Cole Beasley in the slot. Cobb should fit that role well and will be active in the offense.

Fantasy Downside
Father Time might be taking over Cobb as he struggled to stay on the field last season. His numbers dropped significantly last season after being a very steady contributor for Green Bay.

2019 Bottom Line
The Cowboys offense will be better than the Packers last season so if Cobb stays healthy, he will put up around 45 catches for 500 yards. His ADP is 185 which might be a little high because of name recognition. If you can get him later, he is worth a flyer, but basically is depth right now on any fantasy roster.
