2022 Fantasy Upside
Rashaad Penny came back from injury and tore it up down the stretch, likely winning some championships for fantasy owners along the way. Penny finished with over 130 yards rushing in four of the final five weeks of the season to go along with six touchdowns. And now there is no Chris Carson to take carries away after Carson retired due to his nagging neck injury.
2022 Fantasy Downside
While Carson is no longer in the mix, the Seahawks drafted Michigan State RB Kenneth Walker in the second round, when many thought they would draft Liberty QB Malik Willis. In fact, Walker was the second running back taken after the Jets selected Iowa State RB Breece Hall at No. 36. Seattle will want to see what Walker has at some point, which may put a cap on Penny’s upside. Penny has also missed 43% of the team's games with injury since entering the league in 2018.
2022 Bottom Line
Penny will begin the season as the starter in Seattle as he looks to carry his momentum over from 2021. The Seattle backfield isn’t as crowded as before, but Walker is ready and Seattle does still have DeeJay Dallas and Travis Homer sprinkled in as well.
