Rivera: Logan Thomas not ready for the field

WFT HC Ron Rivera told reporters that TE Logan Thomas is not ready to return to the field yet after experiencing soreness Monday. "So far, so good. But, again, he’s just not ready to be put on the football field and that’s probably the biggest thing. We have to be smart about that."

It's a bummer to see Thomas down, but rushing him during a mostly lost season does not benefit him or the team.

WFT hopes to get back TE Logan Thomas, WRs Dyami Brown, Curtis Samuel after bye

Rivera is hopeful that after the bye, Washington may be able to activate tight end Logan Thomas off injured reserve (hamstring) and return a number of starters, including right guard Brandon Scherff (knee), wide receiver Dyami Brown (knee), right tackle Sam Cosmi (ankle), cornerback William Jackson III (knee) and receiver Curtis Samuel.

Fantasy Impact:

Seals-Jones had just a 2-12-0 line last week after three solid games in a row with Thomas on IR. Now could be the time to take a shot on Thomas if he's on your wire and you're in need of TE help. Samuel has been dealing with a groin injury since spring, the story pointed out and could also be a stash option with Washington on a bye this week.

TE Logan Thomas suffered a hamstring injury Sunday that is expected to leave him week to week.

Fantasy Impact:

Thomas left the game in the first quarter very frustrated after the injury and he never returned to Week 4. Thomas' status for Week 5 is definitely in doubt at this point, so owners should prepare to be without the TE at least for Week 5. Seals-Jones is next up on the depth chart for the WFT.

Ricky Seals-Jones joins an already crowded tight end room behind Logan Thomas. He's not fantasy-relevant even if he makes the squad.
