DAL RB Rico Dowdle - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Seattle Seahawks

Rico Dowdle didn't get a lot of run against Washington last week, seeing three carries and a single target. But he did turn that target into a 15-yard touchdown, helping him earn 9.1 Half-PPR points in Week 13.

The Seahawks are one of the friendliest matchups for running backs this season, ranking 28th in aFPA to the position. But Dowlde is not seeing enough work to make him bankable in fantasy terms. If you must start him, you shouldn't expect more than a low-end RB3 outing this week.

DAL RB Rico Dowdle - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs Washington Commanders

Rico Dowdle remained in Tony Pollard's shadow against the Panthers, although he did see 10 opportunities in the game. He was only able to realize 3.0 Half PPR points with these chances, though.

An ankle injury has hampered Dowdle in the lead-up to the game against the Commanders. Even if he does play, he would likely need an injury to Tony Pollard AND a Cowboys releasing their foot off the pedal to return any fantasy value in Week 12.

DAL RB Rico Dowdle - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Carolina Panthers

Rico Dowdle took advantage of his extended opportunities in Week 10, rushing 12 times for 79 yards and his first touchdown of the season. Dowdle posted 13.9 Half-PPR points and finished as the RB17 for the week.

The generosity of the Panthers towards running backs this season - the Panthers rank second to last in aFPA to tailbacks in 2023 - plus the inefficiency of Tony Pollard could lead to even more chances for Rico Dowdle in Week 11. But it wouldn't be wise to project him as anything more than a Flex option this week.

DAL RB Rico Dowdle - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. New York Giants

Rico Dowdle hasn’t been much of a fantasy factor in 2023, with Tony Pollard dominating the backfield opportunities for the Cowboys. He’s carried the ball 35 times for 133 scoreless yards. But with the Cowboys heavily favored against the New York Giants this week, the Cowboys may find some chances for Dowdle to tote the rock in relief of Pollard. He could have some flex appeal in deep formats.
