BUF WR Robert Foster - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 at New York Jets
Robert Foster is fighting what all the Bills receivers are fighting. How good can the passing game be with second-year QB Josh Allen? Foster had bright spots his rookie season. However, two veterans - John Brown and Cole Beasley - join the receiving corps in Buffalo so we aren't sure what Foster's role or impact will be.

Despite a good matchup Week 1 versus a Jets defense that was last in the NFL in 2018 in aFPA to wide receivers, Foster is not in play for a starting spot or even a roster spot at this point unless you want to take a flyer on him in deep leagues.

BUF WR Robert Foster - 2019 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
Robert Foster showed some bright spots during his rookie season. He had three 100-yard receiving games the second half of the season. The fantasy numbers overall for Buffalo players weren’t great because the offense struggled as a unit. Foster is one of the top four options for the Bills at the position and has a good chance to be the starter.

Fantasy Downside
His role will not be really defined until the season starts so he could be the No. 1 receiver or the No. 4 receiver. There is also the question of how good can QB Josh Allen be in his second season, because he was pretty bad last year. That will affect all of the Bills’ receivers.

2019 Bottom Line
We are calling Foster a sleeper because of what we saw in those three games last year. Although he is still fantasy depth at this point, his ADP of 232 is too low. He should be going three rounds earlier. This is a player that could end up being a steal and end up a solid WR3 although some things need to go his way.

BUF WR Robert Foster - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Miami Dolphins

After back-to-back 100-yard receiving yard games, Robert Foster's numbers were tempered last week with four receptions for 52 yards. However, the Bills threw more and Foster was still the recipient of seven targets. Buffalo feels Foster has a future an have been getting him the ball with rookie QB Josh Allen.

Foster will face Miami who is 20th in aFPA to quarterbacks. We expect the Bills to take the handcuffs off Allen again this week so start Foster as a low-end WR2 for Week 17.

BUF WR Robert Foster - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at New England Patriots

Robert Foster has emerged as a legitimate threat for the Buffalo offense. He has recorded back-to-back 100+ yard receiving games and has become a favorite of rookie QB Josh Allen. Foster also scored his second touchdown of the season.

Foster will play the Patriots who are 18th in aFPA to wide receivers. Foster moves up the fantasy rankings and should be in your lineup as a low-end WR2 for Week 16.

BUF WR Robert Foster - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Detroit Lions

Robert Foster has emerged as the top receiver for the Bills here in the second half of the season. Last week, he caught seven passes for 104 yards and a touchdown. The Buffalo passing game has been poor all season, but Foster has taken advantage of the release of Kelvin Benjamin and has produced decent fantasy numbers.

Foster will face the Lions but the Buffalo passing game has had a spark with Josh Allen behind center. But the fantasy numbers aren't there. Keep Foster on the bench.
