NYG RB Saquon Barkley - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Minnesota Vikings

Saquon Barkley got back on track last week against the Commanders, rushing for 87 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries. He also added 33 yards on five receptions, turning in the numbers fantasy managers have come to expect out of him this season. Barkley continues to be one of the best multi-faceted weapons in football and he’s scored a touchdown in all but five games this year.

This week, Barkley faces a Vikings defense that ranks 13th in aFPA to opposing running backs. Expect another busy day for Barkley and another RB1 performance. Barkley is still an active part of the offense on passing downs, so even if the Vikings get ahead early on, he should still produce. Start him as an elite option.

NYG RB Saquon Barkley - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Washington Commanders

Saquon Barkley had a tough outing in a lopsided loss to the Eagles last week. He finished with just nine carries and two receptions for a total of 48 yards from scrimmage. Barkley has struggled over the past four weeks, averaging just 2.9 yards per carry and only 3.25 receptions per game in that span. Still, he remains the primary cog in the offense, and has been able to find the end zone two of those last four.

This week, Barkley has a tough matchup against Washington. The Commanders rank sixth in aFPA to opposing running backs and are fresh off a bye. Barkley seems to be healthy now, but he’s been playing at less than 100% for several weeks now and the Giants are limping to the finish line, offensively. Still, how workload and end zone potential make him a must-start, and we have him ranked as a fringe-RB1 option this week.

NYG RB Saquon Barkley - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Saquon Barkley had 18 carries and five receptions for a total of 81 yards and a touchdown last week in a tie with the Commanders. Barkley has cooled off from a yardage perspective over the past three games, but he’s still found the end zone in two of them and has at least five targets in each. His workload and role as the primary weapon in this offense give him a high enough floor to warrant RB1 potential every week, and his ceiling is as high as it gets.

This week, Barkley faces an Eagles defense that ranks 16th in aFPA to opposing running backs. Barkley should once again be leaned on, making him a must-start, but in a game where the Giants could be trailing for much of the way, temper expectations. We have ranked as a low-end RB1 instead of an elite option.

NYG RB Saquon Barkley - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Washington Commanders

Saquon Barkley was held to just 39 yards on 11 carries last week against the Cowboys, although he found the end zone and caught four balls for 13 yards, salvaging an otherwise forgettable fantasy performance. He’s had a couple tough games on the ground in a row now, but he’s still averaging 3.2 receptions per game, helping to boost his weekly totals.

Barkley has a brutal matchup this week against a Commanders defense that ranks second in aFPA to opposing running backs. He’s still worth starting due to his workload and talent, but temper expectations. We have him ranked as a low-end RB1 instead of as the elite force he usually is.

NYG RB Saquon Barkley - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Dallas Cowboys

Saquon Barkley surprisingly struggled against the surging Lions last week, as he was held to just 35 total yards on 15 carries and a pair of receptions. Barkley is still having a fantasy bounce-back season, however, and one bad outing shouldn’t deter fantasy managers from counting on him moving forward.

This may not be the best game for high expectations, however. Barkley has a tough matchup against the Cowboys. Dallas ranks sixth in aFPA to opposing running backs. Still, his talent, workload, and role in the passing game make him a must-start every week, regardless of matchup. Temper expectations, but keep him active as a top-10 fantasy option.

NYG RB Saquon Barkley - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Detroit Lions

Saquon Barkley had another great game last week against the Texans. He carried the ball an astounding 35 times in a Giants victory, gaining 152 yards and his sixth touchdown of the season. Barkley has been nothing short of fantastic this year and, with that kind of workload, should remain in elite fantasy territory every time he suits up.

This week, Barkley faces a Lions defense that ranks 25th in aFPA to opposing running backs. Expect another busy day for Barkley and in such a great matchup, he should be considered an elite fantasy option in all leagues. Start him.

NYG RB Saquon Barkley - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Houston Texans

Saquon Barkley was held to just 53 yards on 20 carries against the Seahawks before the bye last week. However, he found the end zone for the fifth time this season and caught three balls, giving him a decent enough finish in most formats. Barkley is in the midst of an excellent season, with 4.8 yards per carry – best since his stellar rookie year – and the third-most rushing yards in the league.

Barkley has a phenomenal matchup this week against the Texans, who rank dead last in aFPA to opposing running backs. Expect another busy day in what should be a positive games script for the Giants, and elite fantasy numbers should follow. We have him ranked as our top option this week and he should be active in all leagues.
