BUF WR Stefon Diggs - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at Miami
Stefon Diggs was held in check last week by the Steelers. He still had 13 targets and nine catches, but for only 69 yards, and never got into the end zone. Not to worry because the Bills threw the ball 51 times which is a carry-over from last season. They will once again be a pass-first offense.

Diggs faces the Dolphins who he lit up last season with 21 receptions for 229 yards in the two meetings. Miami is ranked 20th in aFPA to wide receivers after one week so the defense didn't have their best game even though they limited the Pats to 16 points and got a win.

Start Diggs in all leagues and formats as he is ranked a top 5 fantasy wide receiver for Week 2. That should be the case for most of the season.

BUF WR Stefon Diggs - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. Pittsburgh
Stefon Diggs was targeted 14 times against the Steelers last season and considering that Buffalo will run their offense the same way, we can expect much of the same Week 1. Pittsburgh is very good against the run but was only ranked 17th in aFPA to wide receivers. The Steelers don't have a true shutdown corner so they play Diggs differently

The Bills should be pass-happy in this game so expect double-digit targets for Diggs and for him to put up similar numbers that he did last season against Pittsburgh - 10 receptions for 130 yards and a touchdown.

Start Diggs as a top 5 fantasy wide receiver and for him to get your fantasy season off to a good start.

BUF WR Stefon Diggs - 2021 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
The Bills couldn't ask for much more from Stefon Diggs in his first year with the team. They were looking for a true No. 1 and the numbers dictated that. He had career highs in targets, receptions and receiving yardage. All of those numbers ranked No. 1 in the NFL in each category. Buffalo's passing game should continue to flourish as QB Josh Allen continues to mature so Diggs' numbers could be repeated or even exceeded.

Fantasy Downside
The league never woke up when it came to defending Diggs so with the off-season to gameplan around what the Bills offense did, it could be more difficult for Diggs to reach those numbers again. And although he ranked high in most categories, touchdown receptions weren't one of them. He only had eight total which ranked 15th in the NFL. Buffalo really spread the wealth in the red zone as eight receivers had at least five red-zone receptions in 2020.

Bottom Line
Diggs became a Top-5 fantasy receiver last season and was a steal with an ADP in the sixth round. This season, he is going in the late first or early second round. Although Diggs will still be heavily targeted and produce big numbers again, his numbers should slightly regress but still be top 5 in the NFL. If you take Diggs early in a PPR or half-PPR league, you will get still get value worth the selection. The numbers with the Vikings and now with one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL show he is legit.

BUF WR Stefon Diggs - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Miami
Stefon Diggs had double-digit targets for the sixth time in the last seven games and now has three straight 100+ yards receiving games. He and QB Josh Allen are in a zone right now and with the No. 2 seed on the line, they will continue their run as long as both are healthy.

Diggs faces the Dolphins for the second time this season. He caught 8 passes for a season-high 153 yards and a touchdown. Miami is ranked 21st in aFPA to wide receivers.

With a favorable matchup and the fact that Diggs will play with Allen, Diggs still ranks a WR1 for Week 17. He might not play the whole game, but he will get enough fantasy numbers to help your fantasy team.

BUF WR Stefon Diggs - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at New England
Stefon Diggs now has three straight double-digit target games and a minimum of eight in each of the last 10 games. There is no doubt that he is QB Josh Allen's favorite target and the production is there. Last Saturday, Diggs had 11 receptions for 147 yards which was his second-highest total of the season.

Diggs will face a tough New England defense which is ranked second in aFPA to wide receivers. Star cornerback Stephon Gilmore is out but expect coach Bill Belichick to find a way to keep Diggs in check. He had six catches for 92 yards in the first meeting.

Start Diggs as a high-end WR2 for Week 16. He should put up some good numbers even if they aren't what we saw in the last couple of weeks.

BUF WR Stefon Diggs - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Denver
Stefon Diggs was unstoppable in the third quarter last Sunday. He had 10 catches in a game for the third time in the last four games and his second-highest receiving yardage total of the season (130). It's amazing that teams still know Diggs is the player they need to stop and just can't do it.

Diggs will face a tough Denver defense who is ranked 1st in aFPA to wide receivers. He has also benefitted from the emergence of Gabriel Davis as a deep threat which has helped his numbers.

Diggs is a WR1 in standard leagues and a top-five wide receiver in PPR leagues. People can't seem to game plan around him at this point and until they figure him out, he should keep putting up big numbers.

BUF WR Stefon Diggs - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Pittsburgh
Stefon Diggs continues to be one of the most targetted receivers in the NFL. Last week, QB Josh Allen looked Diggs' way 10 times which produced 10 receptions for 92 yards. It was the sixth time this season that Diggs had double-digit receptions. With Allen playing at a high level after a mini-slump, Diggs continues to be the beneficiary of a reborn passing game.

Diggs will face the Steelers who are ranked 15th in aFPA to wide receivers. Even though Pittsburgh's defense has been one of the best this season, they have given up yardage in the passing game.

Start Diggs as a WR2 for Week 14. No matter the opponent, Diggs is going to get opportunities and put up good fantasy numbers every week.
